Seeking to fill the lone remaining hole on their roster — a backup center behind Brook Lopez — the Nets could give Eddy Curry a second-chance in New York. Curry, along with Hilton Armstrong, worked out for the Nets Wednesday, according to Yahoo! Sports. Curry, the much maligned former Knick, spent last season with the Heat, playing 14 games and averaging 2.1 points while riding the coattails of LeBron James to his first NBA title. New York Post

Yet just because, as ESPN reported, the Heat are doing their background work on Blatche, it doesn't necessarily mean they are poised for a move. Yes, Andray has a place in South Florida and has been working out here, but for a player looking to rebuild his NBA career, there might be better places than a roster where his opportunities could be limited. While it might be worth the risk for the Heat, it might not be a move in Blatche's best interests, particularly when considering how Eddy Curry, on a tryout deal of his own last season, essentially vanished. Eddy Curry — His summer plans include playing more basketball than he did this season, though he has expressed no complaints, and said he would “love” to come back, and see how he could contribute in a more normal season. “I’m in a much better place than I was,” said Curry, still just 29 entering free agency. “I’m looking forward to see how the Finals play out, and I’m also looking forward to the summertime, so I can continue working and just see what’s out there.” Palm Beach Post

Curry feels he now has a template for how to maintain his body, and keep from falling out of shape again. “That’s my goal, to play as much basketball as possible this summer, and have fun,” Curry said. He’s already planning to play in Jamal Crawford’s summer league in Seattle. He wants to “get up and down, and get some buckets” with Crawford, one of his closest pals. Palm Beach Post

“I’ve had a lot of fun here, made a lot of great friends here,” said Curry, who has become close with Dexter Pittman. “I love Miami, I love these guys here, and I would love to physically be a part of it. I was mentally part of it, I would love to physically do it this time.” Palm Beach Post
