The Los Angeles Clippers announced today that they have signed free agent forward/guard Chris Douglas-Roberts and forward/center Ekpe Udoh. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. “Chris and Ekpe are two versatile players who bring depth and a strong presence to our team,” Clippers President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Doc Rivers said. “We are excited to add them to the roster.” NBA.com

Ben Bolch: Ekpe Udoh's agent, Michael Silverman, says 2 things drew him to sign 1-year deal with Clippers: winning team and defensive-minded coach. Ekpe Udoh's agent, Michael Silverman, says he was also seeking chance to fight for minutes and Clippers will allow him to do that. Twitter @latbbolch

Udoh averaged 3.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and one block with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings also expressed interest in Udoh, but the source said he was attracted to playing for Clippers coach Doc Rivers in a winning organization and on a team with a defensive mentality. Another possibility is big man Ekpe Udoh, the 27-year-old who visited with the Clippers on Tuesday. Udoh, who was taken sixth overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2010 draft, spent the last three seasons coming off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks. Raduljica is also likely to be waived by the Clippers, and his possible buyout (he's owed $1.5 million) could also create more salary cap space. USA Today Sports

Among power rotation players, the Heat has shown interest in Emeka Okafor and has considered Ekpe Udoh. Preliminary inquiries were made on Andray Blatche and Jason Maxiell. Agent David Falk said he talked to the Heat about Elton Brand but that Brand is unlikely to end up here. Miami Herald

The Heat likely will add another veteran center at the minimum to replace Oden, but it has to be someone who’s content with not playing much. (Barring injury or foul trouble, it’s hard to see many minutes available, with Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen sharing virtually all the time at center; and Josh McRoberts, Udonis Haslem, Birdman and occasionally Danny Granger at power forward.) Among those still available: Elton Brand, Andray Blatche (Heat has avoided him before because of maturity, behavior issues), Charlie Villanueva, Ryan Hollins, Ekpe Udoh, Byron Mullins, Greg Stiesma and Andrew Bynum (who can’t stay healthy). The Bucks declined to make a qualifying offer to forward Ekpe Udoh on Monday and he will become an unrestricted free agent, a source confirmed. Udoh played sparingly for the Bucks last season, appearing in 42 games and making 14 starts. The 6-foot-10 Udoh got off to a rough start in the preseason when he underwent right knee surgery, forcing him to miss all of training camp and the first three games of the regular season.
