League sources say the Warriors have informed teams that they're only interested in moving Monta Ellis in a trade with Orlando that lands them Dwight Howard. Rival executives are skeptical that Golden State would give up significant assets (such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Ekpe Udoh) without a long-term commitment from Howard, who has indicated that the Bay Area is not on his list of preferred destinations. Udoh admits he hears his name mentioned in trade talks from time to time but ultimately ignores most of the reports which surface. “I don’t pay any attention to [trade rumors],” Udoh told HOOPSWORLD. “I just go about my day. At the end of the day it’s a business. The only thing you can control is coming out and playing hard.” Based on the team’s performance to start the season Udoh also understands if the trade winds ship him or one of the squad’s star players away. “We’re united but at the end of the day you have to start winning games,” Udoh said referring to the best way to stop trade rumors from surfacing. The second-year big men are linked because the Warriors selected Udoh with the No. 6 pick in the 2010 draft, one spot ahead of where Detroit snagged Monroe. Riley said he doesn't regret the decision because Udoh is a better fit for the Warriors. "With draft picks, oftentimes you pick a guy and somebody two spots or 10 spots later ends up being a pretty good player," he said. "That's the nature of the draft. According to sources close to the talks, the Warriors' offer includes third-year guard Stephen Curry, rookie guard Klay Thompson and second-year forward Ekpe Udoh. Golden State would pay a hefty price on top of losing those players because its plan would involve waiving center Andris Biedrins via the new amnesty clause (his deal has three years and $27 million remaining) and signing Chandler to a four-year deal that would likely start in the neighborhood of $15 million annually. There is conflicting information on the Clippers' offer, as a source close to the team disputed a report that shooting guard Eric Gordon and Jordan had been offered as trade pieces but other sources insisted that the two, as well as second-year guard Eric Bledsoe, had been made available to the Hornets. The dollar figure following each name is the most recent valuation of their particular at-risk investment, which was purported to be in corporate bonds. Two NBA players, 2010 Warriors lottery pick Ekpe Udoh ($350,000) and former Wizards swingman Cartier Martin ($374,000), were confirmed to be clients by SI. So was one former athletic director and NCAA selection committee member, Rudy Davalos ($83,000). The investment of 13 college basketball coaches alone, meanwhile, is valued at nearly $8 million. The total amount of money in the bonds, whose very existence remains in doubt, is an estimated $55 million, none of which has been recovered. SI.com
