Though the Spurs have one remaining roster spot left open, the chances they’d offer the spot to Lorbek seem very slim considering he’s already 30 years old, has a history with injuries, and the team has already signed Bryce Cotton, JaMychal Green, and Josh Davis reportedly to training camp deals, as each player will be battling to earn that final roster spot. Throw in the fact that there’s still a qualifying offer on the table to restricted free agent Aron Baynes, and Lorbek’s chances at making the jump to the states seem even more unlikely. Last season with Barcelona, Lorbek averaged eight points and 2.7 rebounds in 19 games. ProjectSpurs.com

Though the Spurs will have two roster spaces available once Boris Diaw and Patty Mills are re-signed, there’s been no reported talks of the team being interested in Lorbek. The chances of Lorbek coming to play in the NBA seem very slim, since he hasn’t had any NBA experience and would be a 30-year old rookie. ProjectSpurs.com

Erazem Lorbek's agent, Maurizio Balducci, told HoopsHype that the future of his client is still unclear and there's nothing done with the San Antonio Spurs, the team that owns his rights in the NBA. Balducci said they've been very happy with FC Barcelona, but also said that San Antonio's European style of basketball makes the Spurs an attractive destination. "The scenario is still not clear because his season came to an end just five days ago, so we cannot have a clear picture so far," Balducci said. "We are not allowed to negotiate with the NBA till July 1, so we have to wait." HoopsHype

Erazem Lorbek: I hear and see that the Spanish is are writing wrong information regarding my future (...) To make things clear, I'm not a member of San Antonio. My agent is in intensive talks with Barcelona and San Antonio. But the third scenario in which I would wear the jersey of another Euroleague team is also an option. All options are currently open, NBA does not have a leading position. Kosarka.si

A 6-foot-10 forward from Slovenia currently playing with Ricky Rubio’s old club in Spain, Lorbek was a sidepiece of the Leonard deal. De Colo, a 6-foot-5 guard from France, has also been playing in Spain since the Spurs drafted him 53rd overall in 2009. Both have a chance to cross the pond and join the Spurs next season, depending on how the free-agency landscape shakes out. If you’re handicapping it, expect Lorbek to make the jump before de Colo.
