“If we’re healthy, we’re for sure a playoff team,” Gordon told Basketball Insiders. “It’s all about us getting together and playing because the West is tough. We know that and realize that. It’s all about having a full season together. … That’s what we got to see this year; we’ll have a fully-loaded team and it’s about all of us being healthy. It’s crazy to see how many guys were injured this past year. “We never got a chance to play a full season together. We know we’re a very talented team and [have] a lot of talented individuals, but we just have to put it together and have a good healthy season.” Basketball Insiders

There is a sense around the league that the Pelicans would be open to moving Eric Gordon and possibly Austin Rivers; however, deals involving Ryan Anderson, Tyreke Evans or Jrue Holiday are not of much interest to the Pelicans and without question former top pick Anthony Davis is off the board. Eric Gordon has spent his offseason rehabbing after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on April 16 – exactly two months ago today. Although he’s not yet back out on the floor, he’s comfortable where he’s at with rehab and strengthening the knee. “The knee is doing well,” Gordon told VigilantSports.com. “I’ve been running, moving around very well now. There’s no rush but I mean I’m good now.” The surgery was to his left, healthier knee. It was a cleanup operation, and very minor, he said. The Pelican guard had the same procedure before on his right knee, which has been more troubling to him throughout his career. “I think overcompensation happened probably to this left knee,” he said, with his left hand rubbing his knee. “It just needed a very minor cleanup. I’m fine now.” Vigilant Sports

Gordon, though, is gearing toward returning as a starter. When asked if he would feel comfortable assuming the team's sixth man role he said in an email response Sunday,''I won't get into that because I thought they brought me here to lead and set the tone for the team. "I've got a lot to prove in my career and I'm still young (25).So the more durable I am will really show what I'm capable of,'' said Gordon, who is the highest paid player on the Pelicans' roster with two years remaining at $30.4 million. Davis was examined by team physicians, who determined that his injury will require 1-2 weeks of rest and rehabilitation. Gordon will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee next week and is expected to make a full recovery. NBA.com

New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon did not accompany the team for Friday night's game against the Utah Jazz, so he could get his ailing left knee examined by his doctor in Los Angeles, according to a source close to the team. It's not known when Gordon will rejoin the team, but he's not likely to make the trip to Portland on Sunday when the Pelicans play the Trail Blazers, sources said. New Orleans Times-Picayune

With Thursday’s trade deadline approaching, speculation persists about the New Orleans Pelicans' front office listening to offers for Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans. But Pelicans coach Monty Williams said after Monday’s practice that he expects for both players to still be with the team after the trade deadline passes. ''I don’t know where all that stuff comes from man,’’ Williams said. ''It’s silly to me to put guys names out there like that. I don’t know how to answer that. ''I’m focused on tomorrow's practice. As far as I know, those guys are going to be here. All the trade stuff, I guess there is nothing else to talk about. It’s not something we put a lot of stock into as coaches.’’ New Orleans Times-Picayune

Gordon said he was told by team officials that he's not on the trading block. However, speculation still persists that he could be moved if the Pelicans can find a team willing to take on his enormous contract. New Orleans Times-Picayune
