Eleven days after suffering the injury, Maynor had surgery. Though the surgical procedure was a success, these were the worst of times for Maynor. "The first couple weeks were real tough on me," Maynor said. "Just sitting at the house every day, not doing anything after I got done with rehab. It was the worst. I was sitting at the house, watching games, screaming at the TV, just wanting everybody to do good, especially with the second unit. You could tell stuff wasn't flowing like usual with the second unit." Oklahoman |

Sources told ESPN.com that the Heat have made a strong recruitment effort to sign Fisher, but the Thunder have more financial flexibility to sign him and more of a role to offer after the loss of backup point guard Eric Maynor in early January to a season-ending knee injury. There is also a feeling among some rival teams that Fisher prefers to stay in the West, where he has played his entire career. ESPN.com |

![]() By declining the options this week on four lottery picks from the 2009 draft -- No. 2 Hasheem Thabeet, No. 6 Jonny Flynn, No. 8 Jordan Hill and No. 11 Terrence Williams -- Houston reduced its 2012-13 payroll by nearly $18 million: $17,577,291 to be exact. The Rockets drafted none of the four, who become unrestricted free agents in July, acquiring all of them in separate trades with Memphis (Thabeet), Minnesota (Flynn), New York (Hill) and New Jersey (Williams). ... ![]() For a young group like the Thunder though, part of the question with a loss like Maynor was the psyche of the team. They battled back Saturday night after Maynor left the game against Houston and won on the road. But how would they respond on the third night of a back-to-back-to-back sans one of their closest friends? The players were clearly shaken when Maynor had to be literally carried off the floor by Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins. "The whole season is now for Eric," Harden said. "It's a tough loss. We were all sad. We got to spend some time with him last night at his house just giving some comfort and showing him how much we care." CBSSports.com |

![]() The Oklahoma City Thunder won't let the lockout get in the way of their offseason training. While the players aren't allowed to communicate with management, they are allowed to contact one another and that's exactly what they've been doing in recent weeks. "Guys have called each other to figure out where we can meet and hang out," Nate Robinson told HOOPSWORLD. "We want to get some good workouts in, hopefully soon. We'll probably have guys come in around late August or early September to get it going and start playing." Several Thunder players including Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kendrick Perkins and Eric Maynor recently worked out together in Houston. The group was helping Perkins host his annual basketball camp, but also found time for some training. The team hopes to meet as a whole in the coming weeks for a more extensive minicamp. HoopsWorld |

The Thunder doesn’t love Maynor that much. But in a weak draft that is filled with role players, is there someone in the seven to 15 range who can come in and immediately have a bigger impact than Maynor. Probably not. The Thunder loves to look long term when drafting, and I expect the organization to do the same tonight. But not since Presti began tearing down in 2007 to build up have we seen this front office sacrifice today for tomorrow. It’s possible Presti is willing to someday trade Maynor. But it’s not probable that today is that day, mainly since whatever potential deal is out there would give the Thunder a good leg up for the future but leave a gaping hole at the present day backup point guard spot. That’s why any talk of Maynor being dealt is a little far-fetched. But here are five other reasons the Thunder isn’t likely to trade Maynor tonight. Oklahoman Numerous executives are speculating that the Thunder (No. 24 pick) have given a promise to Boston College's Reggie Jackson, whose camp has refused all workouts and made it known that the point guard already has an NBA home somewhere. The logic leading them there relates to Oklahoma City's bigger picture. It's believed that the Thunder are preparing for life without backup point guard Eric Maynor because of the finances in play. SI.com Is Thunder point guard Eric Maynor worth a lottery pick? Sources say the Thunder have been quietly gauging interest in Maynor over the last few days in an attempt to move up into the top half of the draft. They've spoken to the Kings (No. 7) and Bobcats (No. 9) in particular in the last few days. Maynor was the 20th pick in the 2009 draft, which was one of the most loaded point guard drafts ever. With so few quality point guards on the board this year, would a team covet him more than Kemba Walker or Jimmer Fredette? ESPN.com |
