Ilyasova will not go with the Bucks on their four-game western trip next week but is encouraged that he can return fairly soon, after being fitted for a mask he will wear to protect his nose. "I've broken my nose several times in the past eight years, and so far this is one of the worst ones," Ilyasova said. "I had a couple fractures, some of the new and old ones. "I had to get surgery and just put it in place. It was hard to breathe. Now I feel much better." Ilyasova was cleared for conditioning drills and said he has passed a concussion test. Ilyasova has worn a mask several times before while with the Bucks and while playing international basketball with Turkey. The last time he wore a mask in NBA competition was during the 2012-'13 season. "I have to wear it for a couple months and we'll see how it goes," Ilyasova said. "You're going to be afraid to get hit again. Even now, if somebody pushed me, I kind of shy away a little bit. "But hopefully it's going to work out for me." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Ersan Ilyasova will be a masked man when he returns to the Milwaukee Bucks lineup. Ilyasova has gone through an ordeal over the past 10 days after suffering a broken nose in a Dec. 2 game at Cleveland. On Friday he revealed he underwent surgery earlier this week to repair fractures caused when he collided with the elbow of Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Ilyasova did not play international basketball for Turkey this summer in an effort to regain full health, and he said at Monday's annual team golf tournament that he is "100% healthy" entering next week's preseason training camp. "This summer is the first time for a long time I didn't play for the national team," said Ilyasova, a member of Turkey's runner-up World Championship squad in 2010. "I want to be part of the national team, but it is what it is. I have to first fix myself as well as be healthy. Last year I just came from the European Championship to training camp. I think it was really too much on my body. It was really bad, and I kind of rushed myself to come back the first game of the season. It was like a snowball. It gets worse and worse, and I never find myself 100%. Especially when you have a season like that, everybody was looking for some positive things. This summer I spent a lot of time fixing my ankle. Hopefully this season I start on a new page, with a lot of energy and power." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

One of the final straws for Nets ownership came around the trade deadline. Kidd advocated for a trade with the Bucks that would sent Brook Lopez and Mirza Teletovic to Milwaukee for the deeply troubled Larry Sanders and Ersan Ilyasova. The suggestion, mostly about Kidd's belief that Lopez couldn't fit in his system, was considered and rejected by the Nets brass. NetsDaily

Yet, behind the scenes, the Bucks’ brass has been busy. They’ve been discussing several trade possibilities and, if you believe some NBA officials, they’ll consummate at least one deal. The most likely Buck player to be relocated to a different zip code is Ersan Ilyasova, who is coming off a disappointing season but whose stock remains fairly high. Racine Journal-Times
