HoopsHype Ersan Ilyasova rumors

March 16, 2014 Updates

The sixth year pro says the combination of being included in trade rumors and the mounting losses was a personally frustrating situation to endure. Ilyasova says he’s glad the rumor period has passed and he’s looking forward to general manager John Hammond rebuilding a playoff caliber roster moving forward. “When you go through a season like this and your name comes up [in rumors] it is a little frustrating,” Ilyasova told Basketball Insiders. “But I still feel myself as part of this franchise. I’m hopeful we can find the right pieces for the team so we can play much better because we really need it. I want to be part of a playoff team and that’s what I’m looking forward to, [the franchise] building a better team – a playoff team. “It’s disappointing when you go through a season like this. Especially after last year when we made the playoffs and played against last year’s champions (Miami).” Basketball Insiders

Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova says Adrien has earned his respect and wouldn’t mind seeing him around with the franchise long term. “He’s been playing really great,” Ilyasova told Basketball Insiders of Adrien. “He brings a lot of energy and effort to our team. Sometimes you go to a fresher place because of trades. Now we have a new addition, a new soldier to be involved. Now we have to get our confidence up, but he has fit into our team chemistry fine.” Basketball Insiders

He has played with John Salmons, Corey Maggette, Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis, among others. He has played with Luke Ridnour on two occasions, three years apart. "I've seen a lot," Ilyasova said. "Even last year being in the playoffs and we were hoping we were going to build on it. "I came back to Milwaukee and it was like a new team. It's really frustrating but at some point we have to find stability. We have a great organization. We have good fans, but we just have to be consistent with what we do. "At some point I'm hoping we find the right pieces. I feel really comfortable being with the Milwaukee Bucks. We've had a lot of change, but I hope we find the right players." Sources close to the situation in Milwaukee have informed Basketball Insiders that despite the widespread reports circulating, actual trade talks have been slow and the general feeling in the locker room among players is that there won’t be a rash of moves at the deadline. The source maintains the situation remains fluid, but the team is likely to hold on to assets such as Ersan Ilyasova, Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour if they cannot secure the desired package in return. The Milwaukee Bucks may be a longshot option for Asik, as they have the sort of starter-caliber power forward that the Rockets covet in the disgruntled Ersan Ilyasova. But as has been the case for months now, the final year of Asik's deal in which he'll be paid approximately $15 million for the 2014-15 season is a major obstacle to any deal. USA Today Sports

Ilyasova is arguably the Bucks’ best trading chip and several teams are believed to be interested in him. According to multiple sources, Ilyasova has expressed a desire to be traded, apparently having had his fill of the Bucks’ continual rebuilding project. Racine Journal-Times

Ilyasova downplayed talk about him wanting out of Milwaukee and declined to comment on whether he or his agent, Andy Miller, had requested a trade. Ilyasova made it clear, though, the Bucks’ revolving door policy with players has irritated him. “The thing I’m upset about is each year, each season, we go through the same thing,” Ilyasova said. “Last year, we make the playoffs and now we start all over again. That’s really frustrating. Racine Journal-Times
