The Bucks have reached a deal on a multiyear contract with power forward Ersan Ilyasova, a league source confirmed Sunday. The deal is for five years and as much as $45 million, although guaranteed dollars and the bonus structure of the contract have not been disclosed. The Bucks made a strong push to re-sign the 6-foot-10 Ilyasova, who also drew interest from Brooklyn, Toronto and several teams in Europe. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel David Aldridge: Source says Ryan Anderson will get somewhere between $8-9M/yr in new deal w/Hornets, similar to Ilyasova's imminent Bucks contract. Twitter ![]() The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t make the playoffs last season, but their offseason has already been a success. Sources confirmed a report on the basketball Web site HoopsHype Sunday afternoon that the club was close to a deal that would keep forward Ersan Ilyasova in Milwaukee on a five-year, $45 million deal. Ilyasova was one of the top free agents on the market at power forward, a “stretch four” who finished tied for second in the league in three-point percentage last season (.455) with Warriors guard Stephen Curry. But he also averaged 8.8 rebounds to go with his 13 points per game, posting 20 double-doubles for the Bucks and finishing second to Orlando’s Ryan Anderson in voting for Most Improved Player. ![]() The Bucks have presented Ilyasova with a guaranteed five-year contract, apparently between $7-8 million a year. That would make Ilyasova the second-highest paid player on the Bucks’ roster behind Monta Ellis, who’ll be paid $11 million this season. However, at $8 million a season, Ilyasova would be paid just slightly more than backup guard Beno Udrih, who’ll be paid $7.8 next season. Udrih’s number paled in comparison to Ilyasova’s as he averaged a mere 5.9 points and 18 minutes a game as a non-starter. Tugsavul made it quite clear the Bucks’ offer wasn’t acceptable for him. “We’re looking for a better offer,” Tugsavul said succinctly. Racine Journal-Times While Tugsavul was guarded about Ilyasova’s intentions, some acquaintances of Ilyasova told The Journal Times he wasn’t particularly content in Milwaukee and would sign with another team that made a comparable or better offer than the Bucks. Tugsavul wouldn’t divulge how much Ilyasova is seeking, but some people who have been involved with Ilyasova’s free-agent activities said it was $10 million a season. Racine Journal-Times Ilyasova, the Milwaukee Bucks talented young forward who is an unrestricted free agent, intends on meeting with representatives of several NBA teams over the next week. “We plan on visiting three teams in the next week and maybe some after that,” said Tolga Tugsavul, one of Ilyasova’s representatives, in a telephone interview from Turkey. “We will be talking to some teams in Europe, too.” Racine Journal-Times Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova has yet to make up his mind about a landing place for next season. Yahoo Sports reported Wednesday that the 6-foot-10 Ilyasova has received a five-year, $40 million contract offer from the Bucks. Ilyasova is an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team. The Bucks have Ilyasova's Bird rights and can offer him a five-year deal, while other NBA clubs can offer him a maximum of four years. The Bucks can exceed the salary cap (set this year at $58 million) to sign Ilyasova because he has played the last three seasons with Milwaukee. The Brooklyn Nets have made a flurry of moves this week, including reaching a five-year, $98 million agreement with point guard Deron Williams. The Nets have designs on acquiring Orlando center Dwight Howard but also have interest in Ilyasova, according to reports. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel “They’ve been talking again,” one league source said of chats between Ilyasova’s camp and the Nets, who have pulled off one headline-grabbing, interest-generating move after another recently behind general manager Billy King and assistant GM Bobby Marks.
