A late lineup scratch Sunday when the Wolves went without seven players, Neal has been traded twice, at consecutive trade deadlines no less, since he bypassed a $1 million qualifying offer from the Spurs to sign for millions elsewhere, with only a fraction as much team success. “At the end of the day, unless you’re Tim Duncan or LeBron James or Kevin Garnett, you’re not really going to have a legacy,” Neal said. “I’m not going to be a Hall of Fame player or anything like that. So my job as a man is to put my family in a situation where they can be as comfortable as possible. That’s a decision I made, and to this day, I don’t regret it. I’d make that decision 100 times over.” Minneapolis Star-Tribune

The deadline to buy players out has passed. After the game Neal was asked if he was happy with the Wolves. “I’m a basketball player and Flip has given me an opportunity to come in here and play,” said Neal, who will be a free agent after the season. “I don’t have any complaints. The way the team is set up, with K-Mart being out tonight, your role can change from day to day. All you ask for is an opportunity to come in and play, and Flip has been fair with me on that.” Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Neal’s agent has pushed for a buyout — or a trade — to a contender for his client since the Wolves acquired the veteran guard last week in the deal that sent Mo Williams to Charlotte. “I’m not into buyouts,” Saunders said. “I’m not into paying a guy to play for someone else. It has to make sense for the team, not just the player.” Minneapolis Star-Tribune
