When Indiana Pacers guard George Hill knocked down four big free throws in the final 50 seconds of the Pacers’ Eastern Conference-evening Game 2 win Friday night, one of George’s biggest fans was glued to a TV set some 1,000 miles away. “I watched the whole game,” San Antonio Spurs point guard and Hill’s former teammate Tony Parker said following Saturday morning’s shootaround in preparation for tonight’s Game 3 of the Western Conference finals (9 p.m. ET, ESPN). “We’ve been texting the whole playoffs. I always follow George. He’s like my little brother, so I always text him.” NBA.com

Chris Tomasson: Here's LeBron's full response to George Hill saying that only God is scarier than him. "I'm nowhere near close,'' James said. "I made two mistakes tonight. That hurt our team. And that hurt more than anything. Let my teammates down. They expect me to make plays down the stretch, and I had the ball with the opportunity to make a couple of plays and I came up short. That burns. But the best thing about it is this isn't college. It's not one loss and you're done. I have another opportunity to get better in Game 3, and if I'm put in that position again, to be able to learn from it.'' Sulia

George Hill, who had been sidelined in Game 5 due to symptoms lingering from a concussion in Game 4, has been cleared to play in Game 6. Earlier in the day, Hill participated in shootaround and “looked fine” according to Pacers head coach Frank Vogel. Pacers.com

Indiana Pacers point guard George Hill took part in the team’s shootaround at Bankers Life Fieldhouse today. But Hill, who suffered a concussion earlier this week, still isn’t cleared to play in tonight’s Game 6 against the New York Knicks at the fieldhouse. Pacers coach Frank Vogel said Hill still has some more steps he has to pass in the NBA’s concussion protocol before he’s cleared to play. “There’s a long list of things that are part of the NBA’s protocol,” Vogel said. “He’s in the middle of that process.” Indianapolis Star

Before that, he sat at his locker and tried to expound upon his comment, which received negative fan responses on Twitter; local sports-talk radio shows; and in emails sent to The Indianapolis Star. One fan tweeted: “I’ll be real sure to boo the (crap) out of you now on.” “I’m not saying you can’t be somebody’s fan,” said Hill, an Indianapolis native who went to Broad Ripple High School and IUPUI. “I was a Michael Jordan fan growing up, but when I did go to the games, I always rooted for my hometown team. “You root for who you want to root for, but I know one day that we’re going to get it like it used to be at Market Square Arena. That’s my dream, that’s my goal from when I first got here, to help bring fans back. That’s all I’m trying to do.” Indianapolis Star

Hill, a Broad Ripple High School graduate who played at IUPUI, took to Twitter to clear up his comments Saturday. “To clear the (air) I’m not talking about the fans that was there supporting us! I’m talking about the ones that were in purple” Hill added another Twitter message: “I Love INDIANA and that’s why I say something about it because I care an I want everyone in the community to be apart of this team. #Togetherness” Indianapolis Star

As we interviewed David West following their bad loss to the Lakers, George Hill was a few feet away talking (pretty loud) to Roy Hibbert about the lack of Pacers fans in the building. Scott Agness (or Young Fella as I call him) from Pacers.com and I asked Hill about all the (Lakers) fans in the building. Hill didn’t back down what he was saying to Hibbert. I’ve decided to post the full transcript of what Hill said. Post your thoughts in the comment section. “It sucks. It was 70 (Lakers fans) – 30 (Pacers fans) out there. These are the same people that wants autographs after the game. We’re out there in the community. We’re doing our job, doing what we’re supposed to do on and off the court. Something has to change. I tip my hat to this team. We’ve been trouble free. Been out in the community shaking hands, we’re winning. It shouldn’t feel like an away game, especially with an important like this. Tonight, that’s what it felt like.” Indianapolis Star
