Hill, a Broad Ripple High School graduate who played at IUPUI, took to Twitter to clear up his comments Saturday. “To clear the (air) I’m not talking about the fans that was there supporting us! I’m talking about the ones that were in purple” Hill added another Twitter message: “I Love INDIANA and that’s why I say something about it because I care an I want everyone in the community to be apart of this team. #Togetherness” Indianapolis Star |

![]() As we interviewed David West following their bad loss to the Lakers, George Hill was a few feet away talking (pretty loud) to Roy Hibbert about the lack of Pacers fans in the building. Scott Agness (or Young Fella as I call him) from Pacers.com and I asked Hill about all the (Lakers) fans in the building. Hill didn’t back down what he was saying to Hibbert. I’ve decided to post the full transcript of what Hill said. Post your thoughts in the comment section. “It sucks. It was 70 (Lakers fans) – 30 (Pacers fans) out there. These are the same people that wants autographs after the game. We’re out there in the community. We’re doing our job, doing what we’re supposed to do on and off the court. Something has to change. I tip my hat to this team. We’ve been trouble free. Been out in the community shaking hands, we’re winning. It shouldn’t feel like an away game, especially with an important like this. Tonight, that’s what it felt like.” Indianapolis Star “They always say your fans are your sixth man and you feed off that energy. Energy is down and we turn the ball over and we’re hearing cheers. We’re missing shots and we’re hearing cheers. That kind of brings your head down cause you know you’re at home. It shouldn’t be like that. Now we see how it is. We have to move forward, don’t worry about. Stay focus on what’s in this locker room and don’t worry about the rest.” “(We’re) not a team that’s in the bottom in the East. We’re one of the top three teams in the East. We’re winning the Central Division and it should show. Right now it’s not and it’s been all season long where it’s not showing and I don’t think there’s nothing else we can do as an organization and as players. Now it’s up to the community.” Indianapolis Star |

The Pacers have had just four sellouts this season; opening night, both Miami games and against Chicago earlier this week. While they have increased attendance by 1,320 fans a game from last season, that's still not enough. "It's very disappointing," Pacers guard and Indianapolis-native George Hill said. "The fans show up when we play the marquee teams, but they show up wearing the marquee team's clothes. We feed off them. As much as we can get people there, the better off we're going to be." However, George Hill scored 19 points, D.J. Augustin had a season high-tying 18 and Indiana rallied to beat the Bobcats 96-88 Saturday night for its fourth straight win. Lance Stephenson added 17 points and David West had 14 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists for his first triple-double. "That was a really good win," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "A lot of guys stepped up, in particular David West with a triple-double." Charlotte Observer |

The explosion that tragically took two lives and destroyed dozens of homes last week on the Southside of Indianapolis was an event that was felt deep in the heart of Indiana Fever star Katie Douglas. “I was born on the Southside,” she said. “I live on the Southside. This happened only miles from where we just won the WNBA title. This happened just a few miles from where I grew up.” Douglas and teammate Tamika Catchings joined with Indiana Pacers’ star and Indianapolis native George Hill to host the victims of the Southside explosion in an event where they could get away, even for just a couple of hours, from being consumed by their shocking circumstances. Taking over for the departed Nick Collison at point guard, Hill is averaging 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He scored the deciding basket with two seconds remaining in Indiana’s 90-88 victory over Indiana on opening night, a play the Spurs coaching staff celebrated almost as much as Indiana’s. “I’ve watched him closely,” Popovich said. “As you very well know, he was a team favorite, a fan favorite, a wonderful community guy. Great competitor. So we’re always pulling for him to be successful. We were jumping out of our seat when he made the shot a couple of games ago to win the game for them. We were thrilled.” San Antonio Express-News |

Not cool, George Hill. Saying you want to help out Indiana Pacers teammate Roy Hibbert as he informs Pacer diehards that they have been chosen as part of the "cast" of Area 55 — a section of 55 fans selected by Hibbert himself to show up for every Indy home game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and go crazy for the team, and for him in particular — and then pulling a stunt like this.
