The Grizzlies want a small forward out of the trade and Detroit has two believed to be available: Tayshaun Prince and Corey Maggette. But Memphis, sources said, is talking to at least one other team about taking on Calderon and is expected to receive a second-round pick from Toronto as part of the deal. The Raptors, sources said, are expected to take on Grizzlies reserve center Hamed Haddadi in addition to Gay. ESPN.com

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to send small forward Rudy Gay and center Hamed Haddadi to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for point guard Jose Calderon and forward Ed Davis, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. Calderon is expected to be sent to a third team, however, with Detroit the most likely and Boston and Dallas also in the mix. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the deal has not been finalized. USA Today Sports

The belief is that the 7-foot Iranian, who has remained in the United States all summer, will be ready for training camp. Haddadi had elective surgery in June to repair ligament and tendon damage from a non-basketball related injury he suffered in his right hand before originally signing with the Griz five years ago. Haddadi is expected to have the cast removed sometime in August and then begin rehabbing the hand Memphis Commercial Appeal

Reserve center Hamed Haddadi's long and drawn-out immigration process appears to be near its conclusion. Haddadi was not with the Grizzlies and instead traveled to Canada to pick up a work visa that has now been approved. Haddadi likely will be in uniform by the weekend or early next week. But don't expect to see the 7-footer appear in a game anytime soon. "He's got to get in shape and learn what we're doing," Hollins said. "He's weeks away from playing." Memphis Commercial Appeal

Reserve center Hamed Haddadi did not travel with the team after signing a one-year contract last Saturday. Haddadi still needs to obtain a work visa, so he worked on strength and conditioning instead. The Griz hope to have Haddadi's immigration issue resolved by the end of the week. Memphis still would like to add another player capable of playing power forward and center because Hollins isn't counting on Haddadi as Marc Gasol's primary backup. Memphis Commercial Appeal
