Whether it was Doc Rivers, Chris Paul, Matt Barnes or DeAndre Jordan, the talk was about the officiating and how the Clippers felt like it was 5-on-8 at times. “It’s getting out of control, man,” Barnes said. “Some of the techs we got tonight were … I mean, we’ve got to do a better job of watching ourself, but I got a tech for saying, ‘He’s not shooting the ball.’ (Hedo Turkoglu) got a tech for saying, ‘That’s not a foul.’ I mean, this is just getting out of control, man. “They’re just whistle-happy.” Orange County Register

The Clippers also brought in forward Hedo Turkoglu for a meeting and a workout Thursday. They liked what they saw but don't plan on signing him anytime soon. The Clippers would have to cut a player to make room for any new additions. "He made shots from everywhere," Rivers said of Turkoglu. "He looked good. It was a good workout, but we're not doing anything anytime soon, but he did look good." ESPN.com

The Los Angeles Lakers could emerge as a suitor for free agent Hedo Turkoglu, according to a source: The Los Angeles Lakers could emerge as a suitor for unrestricted free agent Hedo Turkoglu, who was waived by the Orlando Magic on Friday. The Lakers reportedly reached out to the Magic to inquire about Turkoglu prior to his release and they may be interested in signing the 34-year-old veteran once he clears waivers. Turkoglu was paid $6 million from Orlando for this season, even though he has yet to appear in a game and hasn’t even been practicing with the team. Had the Magic held onto Turkoglu after next Tuesday, he would’ve been owed $12 million for the season, so Orlando essentially saved $6 million by waiving him now. Sulia

The Cleveland Cavaliers have called virtually every team in the league this week as part of their continuing search for a trade partner interested in dealing for Andrew Bynum's cap-friendly contract before the magical date of Jan. 7, according to sources close to the process. Which is a handy cue to remind us that the Orlando Magic possess the same sort of trade chip with Hedo Turkoglu and his similarly structured deal. ESPN.com

Marc Stein: Orlando will do same w/Hedo and keep him 'til Jan. 7 in case trade materializes. But deal realistically even less likely for Magic than Cavs. Twitter @ESPNSteinLine

After spending training camp, the preseason and the regular season in a purgatory of sorts, Hedo Turkoglu's period of limbo with the Orlando Magic is nearing a resolution. The veteran small forward can expect to have his situation resolved no later than the close of business on Jan. 7. Turkoglu, 34, no longer fits into the team's plans. Orlando Sentinel

Team officials prefer to allocate his playing time to younger players, such as 21-year-old Tobias Harris or 20-year-old Maurice Harkless. Even 28-year-old Arron Afflalo, a natural shooting guard, has started 15 games at Turkoglu's position of small forward this season to open time for rookie Victor Oladipo to play one of the guard positions.
