Seeking to fill the lone remaining hole on their roster — a backup center behind Brook Lopez — the Nets could give Eddy Curry a second-chance in New York. In 2006, Hilton Armstrong was the 12th overall pick in the NBA Draft, selected by the Hornets out of UConn. The Sonics (Thunder) and Wizards were two other teams Armstrong knew were interested in him at the time. After Jamie Skeen, ASVEL made official the signing of former NBA player Hilton Armstrong for one season. Selected in the 2006 NBA draft with the 12th overall pick by New Orleans Hornets, the forward-center has spent the season 2010-11 with Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks with whom he has played 19 games averaging 1.1ppg and 1.3rpg. The Atlanta Hawks are not standing pat as the NBA trade deadline approaches, with a deal close to finalization, pending league approval, that will send point guard Mike Bibby, rookie guard Jordan Crawford, swingman Mo Evans and a first-round draft pick to the Washington Wizards. The Hawks will get guard Kirk Hinrich and forward-center Hilton Armstrong. Hinrich is a veteran NBA point guard from Kansas, who began his career with the Chicago Bulls.
