Of course, as SportsDay's Eddie Sefko points out, it's only an "untradable" contract if someone desires Parsons be traded. No one in the Mavs' organization intends to trade Parsons. Mavs president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson echoed that sentiment Monday on KESN-FM 103.3. "We're not looking to move (Chandler Parsons). We hope he's here for a long, long time," Nelson said. "In terms of the trade-ability, we've had some pretty interesting contracts in past and were able to get off of them. So I don't think there's such a thing as an untradable contract. But that's clearly not the spirit of which we're doing this. Dallas Morning News

The Houston Rockets' long anticipated trade of Omer Asik to New Orleans has expanded to become a three-team trade involving Washington and Trevor Ariza, according to sources close to the process. Sources told ESPN.com that the Rockets and Pelicans have agreed to turn their previously agreed deal headlined by Asik into a three-team swap that folds in the agreement Houston struck Saturday to sign Ariza, thus creating a valuable trade exception for Washington. The trade, sources say, calls for the Pelicans to receive Asik, Rockets swingman Omri Casspi and $1.5 million in cash from Houston. ESPN.com

The Los Angeles Lakers have made a trade with the Houston Rockets, acquiring guard Jeremy Lin as well as a future first round draft pick and a second round draft pick in 2015 (acquired by Houston in an earlier deal with the L.A. Clippers) in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lishchuk, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. “This trade allows us to acquire a solid player who will make us a better team, as well as draft picks to improve our team in the future, while at the same time allowing us to maintain financial flexibility,” said Kupchak. “In addition to what he’ll bring us on the court, we think Jeremy will be warmly embraced by our fans and our community.” NBA.com
