Iman Shumpert said his scoreless evening - 0 for 6 from the floor - wasn't related to his sore left knee. And today he was unbothered by the knee that underwent an MRI only yesterday. "It felt good while I was shooting,'' Shumpert said after practice. "I didn’t feel so (effected yesterday). I just missed. Good looks. Missed shots. I felt fine.’’ Sulia

The Knicks may be without Iman Shumpert for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals Tuesday night due to a knee injury he suffered in Saturday's Game 3 loss to Indiana. Mike Woodson said the Knicks were flying in their orthopedic surgeon from New York to examine Shumpert's surgically repaired left knee. Shumpert, who wasn't at shootaround, has soreness and swelling in the knee from a couple of awkward falls, including one where his leg bent backward. Newsday

Iman Shumpert sat out the New York Knicks' practice on Monday due to soreness in his left knee, but he is expecting to play in Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. "In my mind, I'm playing," Shumpert said. Mike Woodson also believes that Shumpert will play and wanted to be cautious by leaving the guard out of practice. RealGM

If they lose again, Game 7 is Sunday at the Garden with a chance at everlasting ignominy as, with a loss in that one, they’d become the first NBA team to fold after leading a series 3-0. The Celtics, meanwhile, are looking to become just like the 2004 Red Sox, who rallied from 3-0 down to beat the Yankees in seven games. “People are going to panic,’’ Iman Shumpert said. “Media, fans, everybody’s going to panic and stuff like that. We can’t do that. We’ve just got to play basketball.’’ New York Post

Iman Shumpert’s hair has been shut down by the authorities, but it wasn’t the mile high flat top that ran afoul of the law. The Knicks guard shaved Adidas’ signature “three stripes” logo into the left side of his hair earlier this week, flashing the look during a Friday night win over the Bucks. On Saturday, he posted a photo of his head on his Instagram account — is_21_nykallday — with the logo removed and a wide, flat triangle in its place. “Banned,” the photo’s caption read. “[Sorry] NBA, didn’t realize there were branding issues [with the] logo.” SI.com

Iman Shumpert said he left last night's game against Orlando after feeling "a pop" in his left knee. "I took a step to explode and go up to the rim and I felt it pop," said Shumpert, who had ACL surgery on the knee last spring. "Last time I felt it pop, I was out for eight months. I was nervous and more scared than anything." Shumpert's knee will be re-evaluated by the team Thursday. He said he had been told Wednesday night that he could have gone back in the game if the team needed him, but the Knicks had a big enough lead on the Magic that it wasn't an issue. Said Shumpert: "I'm fine now. Hopefully, it all goes well tomorrow." Newsday

Shumpert is proud and confident, driven and determined, but also stubborn and he can be defiant. He says his lateral movement "is fine" and has no doubt he'll eventually be better than before the injury. He's slowly showing signs of becoming a pest defensively again. Shumpert contends his struggles have less to do with his knee and more with being inactive for so long. "I don't feel I'm the player from last year," he said. "I just came off an ACL. I went four months with no basketball. I couldn't do anything with a basketball except really just stand-in-place stuff. So when you're trying to come back, your rhythm is all messed. Sometimes you dribble the ball. The ball doesn't come back up or it's high. There's a lot that goes into it." Newsday

But Shumpert is encouraged by his recent play, and believes he will help the Knicks down the stretch of the season and playoffs. Although he gets frustrated at times, Shumpert said he is thankful to be playing basketball again, and that he can get out of bed without any help and go to work. "I appreciate basketball so much," Shumpert said. "Every day. That never left. I didn't have to tear my ACL to appreciate the game." Newsday
