Nothing is imminent, but the teams will continue to talk over the next two days. In the rumored deal, the Spurs would acquire Josh Howard, the Timberwolves would acquire C.J. Miles and Jamaal Tinsley and the Jazz would acquire Danny Green and Wayne Ellington. Other players and draft picks will likely be included in the finalized trade. HoopsWorld

Jamaal Tinsley isn’t asking around. He doesn’t leave messages for his agent. He’s never pestered the Jazz, inquiring about his future. All Tinsley knows is that Utah’s a great place for him right now. And he hopes his stay in Salt Lake City continues for the foreseeable future. NBA contracts are guaranteed for the remainder of the season Feb. 10. Heading into a game Saturday against Sacramento, Tinsley should have at least 12 more days in a Utah uniform. While playing for the Pacers, Tinsley was involved in multiple shootings and a bar fight. He was considered untradeable, forced to sit out the entire 2008-09 season, then sued by Indiana’s equipment manager as a result of one of the shootings. Tinsley said he took “a lot of [polygraph] tests to prove” his innocence, but his name was never fully cleansed. “There are certain things you can’t control in life,” Tinsley said. “I went through a lot of things in Indiana. Some of them wasn’t my fault. … At the end of the day, once the media get ahold of it, they’re still going to have a lot to say.” Salt Lake Tribune
