The NBA announced Thursday that rookie forward Terrence Ross (@T_DotFlight31) has been selected to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest on All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm. Ross is the fifth Raptor invited to participate in the event, joining Vince Carter (2000), Tracy McGrady (2000), Jamario Moon (2008) and DeMar DeRozan (2010 and 2011). This year’s contest will take place Saturday, February 16 at the Toyota Center in Houston and will be broadcasted on TSN2 and TNT beginning at 8:30 p.m. (ET). Raptors.com

The Charlotte Bobcats are signing small forward Jamario Moon for the rest of the season, filling the roster spot vacated when Boris Diaw was bought out of his contract last month. Moon, a 6-8 small forward, played four NBA seasons for Toronto, Miami, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent this season in the Development League, averaging 17.7 points for the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Charlotte Observer

The Charlotte Bobcats plan to audition Bostjan Nachbar and Jamario Moon today, looking for another small forward to fill out the roster. The Bobcats chose not to match a Memphis Grizzlies offer sheet on restricted free-agent forward Dante Cunningham. Doing so would have obligated the Bobcats to about $4 million in total guarantees this season and next. I’m not going to try to tell you that Jamario Moon is a good rapper, but he sounds decent, like a sub-Project Pat peripheral Three 6 Mafia affiliate. Plus, J-Lunar is a great rap name for a guy with the last name Moon, and he seems to be having a wonderful time rapping because he’s smiling the entire video. The Score
