The Atlanta Hawks have signed forward James Nunnally to a second 10-day contract, it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Danny Ferry. Nunnally has appeared in one game for the Hawks, totaling five points, one assist and one block (2-3 FGs, 1-2 3FGs) in eight minutes of action vs. Brooklyn (1/16). The undrafted UC Santa Barbara alum, last spent training camp and preseason with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. After being waived by the Suns, Nunnally returned to play for Bakersfield. Phoenix Suns training camp invite James Nunnally has reached agreement on a deal to return to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-League, a league source told RealGM. Following three games with the Suns in the preseason, Nunnally was released and had been evaluating options overseas and in the D-League before deciding to return to Bakersfield. He averaged 10.3 points and nearly three rebounds in 19.7 minutes a game with Bakersfield a season ago. RealGM

The Phoenix Suns signed guard/forward James Nunnally on Saturday. The 23-year-old Nunnally averaged 13.0 points and shot 57.7 percent from the field and 63.0 percent from 3-point range for the Miami Heat in the Las Vegas Summer League. The swingman spent this past season with the Bakersfield Jam, averaging 10.3 points (on 43% from the field and 41% from deep) and 3 rebounds through 49 contests. Working his way up from starting out as a lesser-known rookie, Nunnally emerged as sixth man of the Jam by the time the postseason rolled around. As he heads into the sophomore campaign of his professional career, Nunnally has his sights set on catching on with an NBA team.
