Boston Celtics rookie James Young will not make his NBA debut this week in Orlando. Celtics’ president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told reporters Monday that the swingman will not play with Boston’s summer league team due to lingering health issues following a car accident Young was involved in last month. "He had a little whiplash,” Ainge said of Young’s health issues. “With whiplash comes concussion-like symptoms and dizziness here and there. We're just not messing with that stuff." Boston Globe
Celtics 2014 Draft Picks Marcus Smart and James Young will join current Celtics Kelly Olynyk, Phil Pressey, Chris Johnson and Chris Babb as members of the Celtics entrant to the 2014 Orlando Pro Summer League. They are joined on the roster by 2013 Celtics draft pick Colton Iverson, European veterans O.D. Anosike, Dairis Bertans, Edwin Jackson and rookie free agents Mike Moser, Devin Oliver and Daniel Coursey. NBA.com

James Young was in a minor car accident a “couple weeks ago,” a source confirmed to SNY.tv. Chad Ford of ESPN first Tweeted Thursday morning that the 6-foot-7 Kentucky freshman “was in a minor car accident” that caused him to “miss [his] last 5 workouts. He’s OK.
