Free agent guard Jannero Pargo plans to sign a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Bobcats on Thursday, agent Mark Bartelstein told RealGM. With Ramon Sessions out up to four weeks with a sprained MCL, the Bobcats had been searching for stability behind Kemba Walker. RealGM

The Charlotte Bobcats plan to sign eight-season NBA veteran Jannero Pargo on Wednesday to shore up depth at the point guard position, an informed source told the Observer. For Pargo, 33, this will be his seventh NBA franchise. He spent portions of this season with the Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks after previous stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Hornets. The Bobcats are expected to sign Pargo to a 10-day contract, after the team lost reserve point guard Ramon Sessions for up to a month with a sprained left knee. Teams are allowed this late in the season to sign a player for up to two 10-day contracts before having to decide whether to keep that player the rest of the season. Charlotte Observer

The Celtics are reportedly on the verge of signing a guard to a 10-day contract — a hedge in case a more desirable player is available in another two weeks — though management was still sifting through possibilities. Shelvin Mack, the Maine Red Claws point guard, remained with his team on its road trip. Jannero Pargo, the 32-year-old whose second 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks expired last week, also hadn’t been contacted. Boston Herald
