HoopsHype Jarrett Jack rumors

March 16, 2014 Updates

As one of the first players to don the NBA's sleeved jerseys, Jarrett Jack feels qualified to give an informed assessment on precisely how the sleeves made him and the rest of his then-teammates at Golden State feel. "We're like the Beach Police," Jack said. "You know those police who are on the beach with those bikes? They've got those little shirts with the shorts? That's what we look like. Like we about to give somebody a citation." Cleveland Plain Dealer

The NBA has promised to listen if enough players complain, although commissioner Adam Silver also said during All-Star weekend that there is not hard data to prove players actually are shooting worse. "We know that shooting percentages are virtually exactly the same for games in which we have sleeved jerseys and games in which the guys are wearing conventional jerseys," Silver said. "So I'm pretty comfortable from a competitive standpoint that it's having no impact." Unless, of course, you happen to look in the mirror. Then the evidence is irrefutable. "They look disgusting," Jack said. "You look like a volleyball team." Cleveland Plain Dealer

On the Sacramento-Cleveland front, I'm told the Jarrett Jack-for-Jason Thompson deal first reported by ESPN.com is on life support. The initial report indicated that the Cavs wanted a third team to send Thompson to, and apparently they're finding that extraordinarily difficult. USA Today Sports

The Warriors are still looking to see if they can upgrade their core without laying complete waste to what they’ve already built. Don’t close the door on a possible return of Jarrett Jack, one source said, suggesting that the Cavs would help their campaign to retain Kyrie Irving by acquiring Harrison Barnes, who Irving stumped for before the draft. Knowing the familiarity between Lacob and Ainge, I’d be surprised if a Green-for-Barnes-centered swap wasn’t at least broached as well. Bleacher Report
