Jason Kapono is out from PAO BC. At least that’s what he wants and asked before today’s game against KAOD. The American sharp shooter is not expected to finish the season in Greece, as he appeares to be irritated by his lack of minutes in Euroleague and in the Greek league. This is more than truth, since he wasn’t used not even for a second in the last game against Anadolu Efes. EuroHoops.net |

Jason Kapono wrote an open letter which was posted in Panathinaikos bc official website. The American forward is thanking the Greek team for its support to his family problems (his wife is having pregnancy complications), but he still haven’t decided if he will come to Athens. “Having reached a deal with Panathinaikos last week, I faced an unexpected family emergency, that delayed my departure to Greece. At this moment my situation is still unclear and I don’t know yet if it will prevent me from fulfilling my obligations to the team. My agents and Panathinaikos are in constant contact and me and my family will try to find a positive solution. Panathinaikos is one of the most legendary clubs in Europe and I was excited to join them and be a part of their winning tradition. Everyone in the team is fully professional and respected my situation, specially owner Mr. Giannakopoulos, whom I thank personally about his support”. EuroHoops.net |

Panathinaikos announced officially on Friday the 16th of November the singing of Jason Kapono and a few hours latter his wife had complications in her latest pregnancy. The Greek club is in constant contact with the player, waits to be informed about the new date of his arrival – he was scheduled to travel to Greece on Sunday – and clarified to the American player that his wife will have the best possible medical care in Athens. EuroHoops.net Kapono seems to appreciate the behavior of the club, but he is worried due to the condition of his wife and he seems reluctant to come immediately to Greece on his own, or with his whole family. The Greens on the other hand can’t wait forever and even with his contract being signed, the deal could be voided. Kapono should decide what he will do in the next two or three days. If not, then Panathinaikos will not have any other choice than to move on. EuroHoops.net |

He remains optimistic and views Leandro Barbosa‘s late signing with the Boston Celtics and Eddy Curry signing with Dallas just days before the start of the season as hope that he’ll, too, soon find a new home. “Ultimately, I have to stay ready, which I am, as far as in the gym, and stay positive,” Howard said. “I don’t think my career’s over.” Other notable players still looking for a team: Guards: Derek Fisher, Gilbert Arenas (in talks with Chinese team), Baron Davis, Earl Boykins, Mickael Pietrus, Michael Redd, Maurice Evans, Jason Kapono. ![]() Adrian Wojnarowski: Free agent Jason Kapono has been working out with the San Antonio Spurs this week, league sources tell Y! Sports. Twitter This strikes us, foremost, as due diligence. The Spurs are always on the lookout for knockdown 3-point shooters and, once upon a time at least, Kapono was that. However, the Spurs are already relatively well-stocked on the wings. Unless another shooter were to leave for some reason, it’s difficult to see how Kapono might fit. San Antonio Express-News |

Jason Kapono doesn't figure he will be a Lakers starter for long. Noting Kobe Bryant's history of playing through injuries, Kapono said he expected the star shooting guard to be in the Lakers' lineup as usual on Christmas in their opener against Chicago. "I think you'd be a fool to not think that," Kapono said Wednesday before filling in for Bryant, who sat out the Lakers' final exhibition game against the Clippers at Staples Center because of a torn ligament in his right wrist.
