While Taylor will almost certainly enjoy his time at home with his mom, the rest of his family and friends, it’s still going to be a business trip. He’ll be joining the Swedish National Team for Training Camp less than a week later as they prepare for Eurobasket 2013, which will be played from September 4-22 in Slovenia. It won’t be the first time Taylor’s had the chance to represent his country. He played with the under-15, under-16, under-18 and under-20 Swedish national teams. Having spent most of his basketball career associated with his national team, taking the court at Eurobasket 2013 will be a special moment for Taylor. “It’s just like the American guys. They love representing their country. … It’s the same for me,” said Taylor. “I grew up over there. I was immersed in the Swedish culture – it’s my home. I’m definitely blessed to have the opportunity to play for the country.” NBA.com

Charlotte Bobcats guard-forward Jeff Taylor had a weight problem. Just not the kind most of us experience. After traveling around the country last spring for predraft workouts, he wasn’t himself. He had dropped about 15 pounds from his playing weight at Vanderbilt and he never gained it back during his rookie season. “Last year I felt weak and never had a chance to build back up,” Taylor said at a practice Saturday on UNLV’s campus. “During the season it’s hard to start gaining weight.” Charlotte Observer

Last season the 6-foot-7 Taylor was down to 208 pounds. Now he’s back up to 222, and he’s performing better. In the Bobcats’ opening game of the Las Vegas summer league Friday, Taylor scored 24 points off 9-of-17 shooting, including a spectacular second-half dunk against the San Antonio Spurs.
