Never mind the murmurs that sometimes rise to audible levels. Never mind the continued insistence by some Syracuse fans that he should have stayed for his junior season, that he could have rescued the Orange from its current 6-3 predicament. Grant has no regrets. "Not at all," he said Friday night before the Sixers faced Charlotte at the Wells Fargo Center. "My dream was to make it to the NBA and I'm here now. 76ers coach Brett Brown said Monday that injured forward Jerami Grant “is still a ways away” from returning. The rookie is out with a sprained right ankle. The former Syracuse standout hasn’t practice since the second day of training camp on Oct. 1. Back then, he was hospitalized for dehydration. Grant first injured his ankle during offseason workouts. Brown had expected him to return on Nov. 5. “I don’t really know the time frame,” Brown said. “I think it could be a little as eight to 10 days. But in regards to a specific time frame, I’m not really sure.” Philadelphia Inquirer

Former North Carolina swingman P.J. Hairston, Connecticut guard Shabazz Napier and Syracuse forward Jerami Grant will be among the prospects working out for the Grizzlies on Thursday in FedExForum. Grant, 6-8, is intriguing because of his size and athleticism at small forward. While Hairston is shorter at 6-5, he’s considered a force at that position because of his strength and scoring ability. Hairston played in the NBA Development League for the Texas Legend last season after being dismissed by North Carolina in December. Memphis Commercial Appeal
