HoopsHype Jerry Reynolds rumors
As Ranadive continues to consider candidates to replace basketball president Geoff Petrie, whose contract expires at the end of the month, Jerry Reynolds said Wednesday he will step down as director of player personnel in anticipation of a new front-office team. "Clearly, with the new GM coming on board, they'll want their own staff," said Reynolds, who has been with the team since its move from Kansas City to Sacramento. Reynolds said he wants to continue in his role as analyst for the Kings broadcasts. "I would love to continue to do television," he said. "Obviously, that's not my decision." Sacramento Bee
The front-office changes are continuing for the Sacramento Kings, as Jerry Reynolds announced Wednesday he will step down from his role as director of player personnel. "With new ownership, a new coach coming in, getting a new staff ... the new general manager will want his new people," Reynolds said from his office at the Kings headquarters. "I certainly do not want to be in the way at all." Reynolds said the decision is his. He has not been contacted by the new ownership group, and with his contract expiring in September, Reynolds said now is the right time to step aside. KCRA.com
