According to a source, Josh Akognon has been acquired by the Delaware 87ers. Akognon recently finished his season with Qingdao in China, and averaged 27.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists in 30 games. Akognon was selected first overall in the Delaware 87ers’ expansion draft this past August, however, did not attend camp with the team. D-League Digest

Free agent guard Josh Akognon has reached agreement on a substantial one-year contract with Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association, sources told RealGM. The Mavericks on Saturday announced they've signed guard Josh Akognon to a rest-of-the-season contract after Akognon's original 10-day deal expired Friday. ESPNDallas.com has learned that Akognon's deal includes a team option for the 2013-14 season that will, at the very least, ensure he's a Maverick through the summer. Akognon made his NBA debut in Wednesday's home loss to Phoenix and made his only shot in totaling two points and an assist in four minutes. ESPN.com

Sources told ESPN.com that the Mavs on Thursday will sign Josh Akognon to a 10-day deal. The high-scoring sharpshooter from Cal State Fullerton went to training camp with the Mavs but ended up returning to China to play for Liaoning when he was Dallas' final cut before opening-night rosters were finalized.
