Earlier this week, Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday admitted he is still having problems with his lower right leg that forced him to miss 42 games this season because of a stress reaction. With their season completed, Holiday is considering going through another surgical procedure this offseason to remove a screw that was put in to hold the steel rod in his right leg that was surgically implanted in his tibia to repair a stress fracture last season. Williams said the Pelicans medical staff is going to do everything it can to work with Holiday's doctors in Los Angeles throughout the offseason. ''Any time you don't have a player like Jrue, who plays every game and practices every day and when he can't, there's concerns,'' Williams said. ''No matter how you slice it, concern or frustration, the bottom line is I'm more saddened that he can't play for him. We're still trying to figure it out. Hopefully, Lord willingly, he'll be back on the floor next year and be healthy.'' New Orleans Times-Picayune

With only six games remaining in the regular season, Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday's possible return still remains in question because of his stress reaction injury in his lower right leg. And although coach Monty Williams hasn't ruled out hope for Holiday's possible return, it is starting to appear doubtful. If the Pelicans do decide to pull the plug on Holiday's return, it will be made in collaboration from Mickey Loomis, the Pelicans executive vice president, General Manager Dell Demps and Williams. ''Mickey obviously will make the last call on that, but I am sure that's on the table,'' Williams said. New Orleans Times-Picayune

Last season, Holiday was limited to playing only 34 games after he suffered fracture i that required surgery to implant a steel rod in right tibia. ''I know we don't have as many games left, but my hope is that he can play this year and help us,'' Williams said. ''Even if it's in a limited role. I hate to say day to day. But it does have that kind of feel, especially when you have limited games to go. I still don't know. I hope it's tomorrow. ''His (point guard) position, that's a tough position to come back and play effectively after you've been out almost 40 games.'' New Orleans Times-Picayune
