Ronnie Brewer: Bulls vs Nets glad to c my guy Keith Bogans get on with a team but he's gonna learn today #bullsnation #benchmob #seered we in here baby lol Twitter This toughness manifested itself again Monday morning, when he talked emotionally about the Bulls releasing him and eloquently about the bond he formed with his former teammates. “Those 15 guys I was in the locker room with were all my brothers,” Bogans told the Tribune. “I formed a bond with them that I probably haven’t formed with another team that I’ve played on. That was like my family. All those guys reached out to me when I got released. They were genuinely hurt when I didn’t come back. DRose, Joakim (Noah), Luol (Deng), all reached out and asked me what’s going on. I didn’t have an answer for them. “I had one of the best seasons I’ve played and that was one of the best teams I’ve played on. It was a great experience. I wouldn’t trade it. I loved played for Tom (Thibodeau). He’s a great coach with my style, defense first. I don’t know why they waived me. I get upset every time I talk about it.” Chicago Tribune Bogans expressed frustration over how the sequence of events unfolded. He said he participated in informal workouts at Berto Center the week of Dec. 5 under the impression from agent Joel Bell, whom he has since fired, that the Bulls would bring him back. And Bogans said interest from Portland got scuttled when the Bulls held his rights from the time they pulled him off the floor on Dec. 9 to his official Dec. 16 release. Chicago Tribune |

Bogans, an eight-year veteran with the reputation of a tough defender and good 3-point shooter, started all 82 regular-season games for the Bulls and then 16 in the playoffs last season. The Bulls, OK? So there are some questions that really don’t seem to have an answer: How did they really build the pyramids and why the heck was Bogans out of work so long? “I have no clue,” said Bogans, a 6-foot-5 guard with a new agent — Dan Fegan, who also represents Dwight Howard. “I just could take care of what I could, and that’s work out every day. Stay ready.” New York Post “I’ve been sitting at home for a month-and-a-half, going crazy,” Bogans said before the Nets played host to the Detroit Pistons tonight. “It’s just good to be back on the court, be a Net, and play some basketball.” Newark Star-Ledger |

The Bulls unofficially waived Keith Bogans on Dec. 9 when they pulled him from the floor moments before the first practice of training camp. They made it official Friday, days before Monday's deadline for picking up his $1.73 million team option. In starting all 82 regular- and 16 postseason games, Bogans drew criticism from fans seeking an upgrade at shooting guard. But coaches and teammates appreciated Bogans, praising his toughness and professionalism. Chicago Tribune Bogans has drawn interest from several teams but was extremely unhappy with the way his Bulls' stint ended. "Hopefully, he can get on with another NBA team and find a home quickly," Brewer said. "He worked hard this offseason getting healthy and he was in great shape. We're a family. And that's like a brother not being on the team. We're definitely going to miss him." Chicago Tribune |

The Bulls continued Wednesday to cast a wide net, contacting representatives for Caron Butler, Grant Hill, Shane Battier, Kurt Thomas, Jamal Crawford, Josh Howard, T.J. Ford, Keith Bogans and several others. Because no deals can be signed until Dec. 9, Wednesday marked a day for all teams to start gauging the market and seeing what options and interest exists.
