All to stay in shape as Hasbrouck, who’s fourth in school history with 1,917 points, awaits his next professional opportunity after being waived by the Miami Heat in the preseason. “I’ve got offers overseas,” Hasbrouck said. “We’re still waiting to see about NBA teams and see what’s going to happen with those first.” Hasbrouck made it clear he’d rather stay in the United States, but is likely to make a decision by Christmas break, at the latest. “I think usually, overseas it’s Christmas break,” he said. “I’m guessing after that you have no choice but to make a decision. But I want one before that. Shoot, I’ve got to get money in my pocket, anyway. Take the first job that’s the best for me.” Albany Times Union

Hasbrouck still counts Wade and injured forward Udonis Haslem among his close friends. “I wouldn’t say they’re struggling yet,” Hasbrouck said. “I’m not surprised. Just the fact that they didn’t have a full preseason together. Some of the guys have little nick-nack injuries. I think it’ll take a little bit of time, around the 40th game, I think you’ll see your true colors.” Albany Times Union

The Heat coaching staff went into training camp sold that Hasbrouck was an NBA talent, never quite as smitten with Beverley, a Riley favorite. South Florida Sun-Sentinel
