HoopsHype Kevin Grow rumors
Coach Brett Brown was very excited at the 76ers newest acquisition – Bensalem senior Kevin Grow. The Sixers signed Grow to a ceremonial two day contract before Monday evening's practice at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Grow, who has Down Syndrome, has been Bensalem's basketball manager for four seasons. He got to play in two late-season games and made the most of his opportunity when he scored 14 points against Neshaminy, hitting four three-pointers. Philadelphia Inquirer
Before signing his contract, the first question Sixers coach Brown asked was whether he could play defense and Grow assured him he could. "I know you can shoot but you can play defense, too, I say we give him a three-day contract," Brown said. Added Grow: "It's great to be here," he said. Philadelphia Inquirer
