"I'm very pleased that we were able to agree to a new contract and that we'll be able to continue to build upon the success we've had," Ollie said. "It's a humbling experience to be around the UConn fans and the UConn family and to know that I am their basketball coach for the foreseeable future. I'm very proud of that. UConn is a place that I love and as I've told everyone throughout the season and through all the recent speculation, this is where my heart is. This is where I wanted to be. I'm very thankful to President Herbst and Warde Manuel for showing confidence in me and my coaching staff. It's the student-athletes who have sacrificed to uphold the standards we have set at UConn and done such a terrific job. I'm happy and excited to be able to continue to invest in their basketball careers and their lives." UConn Huskies

According to team sources, the Cavs were rejected by UConn’s Kevin Ollie, who was seen as the perfect coach who could get Irving to re-sign long-term in Cleveland, while also having the ability to recruit former teammate LeBron James to return home this summer. The second part was a total pipe dream. But Gilbert is known as a non-stop screamer and the very definition of a hands-on owner. Last Monday, when Brown was fired, Gilbert elevated David Griffin from interim GM to permanent general manager. Already, however, talk around the league is that Griffin has no power and it’s the Dan Gilbert Show. New York Daily News

Kevin Ollie might head take an NBA head-coaching position, but it might not be with the Lakers. An undisclosed NBA team not named the Lakers reached out to Ollie about interviewing for its vacant head coaching position, leaving the UConn coach mulling over the team’s latest extension offer, according to a league source familiar with the situation. “A team has come at him hard. It’s going to be interesting,” the source said. “He’s always preferred UConn. But he may have a decision to make.” Los Angeles Daily News

Kevin Ollie -- Former Cavs player won NCAA title in his second season as head coach at UConn and has been mentioned as possible candidate for numerous NBA jobs. A source close to him doesn't think he'd return to the Cavs. Cleveland Plain Dealer

Kevin Ollie is still the coach at UConn and Wednesday he reaffirmed that he does not expect that to change. "I love this university," Ollie said at the New York Athletic Club, where he was to receive the Winged Foot Award Wednesday night. "I'm not looking for another job. Of course, you listen to different things — I got two ears so I'm going to listen — but I'm not going out there soliciting any other job. I want to be here at the University of Connecticut." Since leading the Huskies to the championship April 7, Ollie has been mentioned as a candidate for several NBA teams, most often the Lakers. But Ollie, who has four years left on his UConn contract, remains in talks for a new deal with the school. "It's progressing," he said. "We're talking and hopefully we can get together once all this quiets down and me and [AD Warde Manuel] can have a nice talk and hopefully get everything situated." Hartford Courant
