Hawks interested in Korver: Kyle Korver said Saturday that the Hawks have expressed interest in re-signing him. Korver, obtained in an offseason trade with the Bulls, will become an unrestricted free agent July 1. “They said they would like to work something out, so we’ll talk in July,” Korver said. “I really enjoyed my year here in Atlanta. I enjoyed the team. I enjoyed the organization. I believe (general manager) Danny Ferry is going to do some great things here. I think he has a great opportunity to bring in guys who are going to play fun basketball. “You know the vision he has. You know the kind of basketball that he likes to watch, and I think he’s going to bring in those types of guys, and I like the same basketball that he likes. So, I’m very open to coming back here.” Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The Hawks will use the same starting lineup in Game 2 of their playoff series with the Pacers. The first unit will be Jeff Teague, Devin Harris, Kyle Kover, Josh Smith and Al Horford. “I think after every game, particularly a game where things don’t go as well (you consider change),” coach Larry Drew said Wednesday. “It’s not time for us to panic. From a lineup standpoint I want to stay with what has been good for us. Obviously, through the course of the game we’ll make changes. At times we’ll be smaller. At times we’ll be a little bigger. It’s definitely not a time to panic and shift things around. “In going back and looking at our first game with them, we didn’t do enough things well. If we correct a few things, it puts us in a better position.” Atlanta Journal-Constitution

“I just have to trust myself to make the right decision. I’ve been thinking about it a lot, praying a lot and talking to the right people to try to make this easier.” One of those people is former Creighton star Kyle Korver, now in his 10th season in the NBA. McDermott has had several conversations with Korver, including one Monday night. “I’m trying to bounce some ideas off of him,” McDermott said. “It helps having someone like that to talk to.” McDermott said Korver has avoided trying to steer him one way or the other. Hawks president of basketball operations and general manager Danny Ferry has preached a message of flexibility since taking over personnel decisions last summer. The front office leadership has impressed Korver and the veteran is on board with the direction of the franchise. “I’ve really enjoyed Atlanta a lot,” Korver told HOOPSWORLD. “It’s a good life here, you know? It’s a good city. I believe in the direction Danny Ferry is going. There are some really good pieces here and we play fun basketball. Free agency … I don’t want to talk about it a whole lot yet but I’ve really enjoyed my time here with the Hawks.” HoopsWorld

The Nuggets spent an significant amount of time today making sure everyone was on the same page to stop a particularly potent shooter – Atlanta guard Kyle Korver. He is the NBA’s deadliest 3-point shooter, nailing 46.2 percent of his tries this season. He is the kind of player the Nuggets would love to have on their roster to bolster an area that has been lacking this season. The Nuggets are 27th in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage. Here’s the kicker: Next season, Korver could be a Nugget. Think of this in similar terms to the Andre Iguodala saga. The Nuggets had interest in Iguodala, then with Philadelphia, at the trade deadline in 2012 and ended up being part of a trade that brought him to Denver in the summer. Denver Post

All along, Korver felt a trade out of Chicago could come, and when he left last year, it was on good terms. Korver will be a free agent this offseason, and there’s little doubt that the Bulls will at least make a pitch to sign him – just like many other NBA teams. And should he receive that call from the Bulls, Korver made clear he would consider returning. “Totally, I would,” Korver told RealGM on Saturday night. “That’s a great organization, that’s an awesome jersey to put on. Great fans, good team. You only get to be a free agent so many times in a career, so I’ll definitely see what’s all there. But I would absolutely listen to what they’ve got to say.” RealGM

But the Hawks' Kyle Korver, the Hawks' alternate player rep, has read the summary of the law firm's findings and planned to continue reading on the team's flight home to Atlanta. Korver said it's "incredibly important" that players educate themselves about the findings and get involved in the decision of who will lead the union going forward. "I think everyone's got to read the information and we've got to make the decision together," Korver said. "I think where all this can go wrong is when people start throwing out their opinions. We all have the information now. In the past, we didn't always know. You'd hear rumors. Do you believe these agents? Do you believe the union? Do you believe ESPN? This is it. This is the real stuff. So I'm sure there are going to be some decisions made." CBSSports.com

Positions can obviously change between now and the Feb. 21 trade deadline, but sources maintain that Atlanta has not been enticed in the least by the prospect of parting with the 26-year-old Smith -- even as he heads into unrestricted free agency -- for the 32-year-old Gasol. The Hawks, for the record, have also been telling interested teams that they value Smith and what he offers as a hybrid forward in an Eastern Conference that's generally been getting smaller. Josh Smith may not hear the groans from the Philips Arena crowd when he squares up to take a 3-pointer this season. Why? Listen to Smith tell it. “You haven’t seen the roster?” Smith turned around a reporter’s question about his long-range shooting plans on a rebuilt Hawks roster. “We’ve got Kyle Korver, Devin Harris, Louis Williams, Anthony Morrow, Anthony Tolliver. Am I missing anyone? Jeff Teague. … So there we go. That answers that question. I didn’t even say my name did I? Call me mid-range shawty.” Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Former Chicago Bulls guard and small forward Kyle Korver on Monday sold his 16-room mansion in Glencoe for $1.34 million. On July 13, the Bulls traded Korver, 31, to the Atlanta Hawks. However, his mansion had been on the market longer than that. Korver first had listed the mansion in April for $1.499 million, and he later reduced its asking price to $1.475 million and then to $1.449 million. Chicago Tribune
