“I did notice during the game Melo and Kevin were jawing a lot at each other,’’ she writes. “But that’s basketball, the heat of the game. I really didn’t think anything of it. But when Melo went to have words with him, I knew it had to be more than an in-game beef. I asked Melo about it and all he said was that Kevin said things you shouldn’t stay to a person you have a friendship with or respect for. [Melo] told him I’m not some rookie. We’ve been in this league a while together so don’t treat me the way you’d treat a rookie. I’m sure the words were a little stronger than that but that was the gist of what Melo said back to Kevin.’’ New York Post

Carmelo Anthony said his wife, La La Vazquez, has a right to be “upset’’ her name resurfaced during the Celtics series. Boston reserve Jordan Crawford, according to replays, appears to have shouted a vulgar remark at Anthony regarding Vazquez after the final buzzer of Wednesday’s Game 5. Vazquez expressed her disapproval Thursday on Twitter and Anthony said she has the right to express her views — even if it focused more attention on the controversy. “I would be upset too if I was her,’’ Anthony said at the Knicks’ shootaround at Suffolk University yesterday morning. “She’s always getting thrown into the mix of the Boston Celtic series. I would be upset if I was here. She’s her own person. At the end of the day, she has the right to say whatever she wants to say.’’ New York Post

While “Basketball Wives” is proof that some NBA wives have cause to worry about their spouses’ faithfulness, LaLa Anthony said she’s too secure to sweat it. “There are a lot of athletes who do live a certain life with women everywhere. So you can’t act like it’s the craziest thing you’ve ever heard, but I’m secure in my relationship,” she told Latina magazine. Despite rumors that her hubby, Carmelo Anthony, has a love child out there somewhere, LaLa said she still gives him lots of freedom. “We’ve been together for eight years and I think we’ve lasted this long because we’ve given each other space… but there’s also that time where it can be too much,” she admitted. Mrs. Carmelo Anthony says there is a "possibility" that her husband will end up on the Knicks which means we also get LaLa Vasquez. That's a pretty good deal for everyone involved. "Us being in New York is a possibility," LaLa told the Daily News' Amanda Sidman. "It depends on 'Melo's career and where it takes him. There's a lot of talk about the Knicks, I mean, there's a lot of teams out there, he's a great player and I think collectively we just need to think about what makes sense for our family. But I would never say that being in New York is not an option, I'd be lying to you if I said that." New York Daily News
