So what’s Allen learned in his sophomore go-around? “What have I learned? I mean, what have I learned? That’s a good question,” Allen said the other day. And? “Uhh, nothing really,” he said. “I didn’t have to do any rookie duties this year, so that’s good, I guess.” Delaware County Daily Times

In case you missed Kami's post from earlier in the week, our very own Lavoy Allen is up for HoopsHype's Tweeter of the Year. Between posts about bowel issues, Andrew Bynum's hair and shameless plays for Stacey Dash's love, it's not hard to see why. But as one of the league's premier Twitterers, Lavoy should know better than to post photos like this one of his girlfriend. LibertyBallers.com

(Lavoy) Allen, who became a starter in last year’s playoffs, heard his coach’s plan to start Brown and Spencer Hawes in the frontcourt, but he isn’t worried. “It doesn’t bother me,” Allen said while at an appearance for a basketball showcase at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in South Jersey on Saturday afternoon. “You never know what can happen once training camp rolls around. You don’t know who’s going to do what. Coach says that now, but you never know what he’s thinking. He switched the lineup many times last year.” CSNPhilly.com

The 76ers reached agreement in principle on a two-year, $6 million contract extension with Lavoy Allen on Sunday, the first day of free agency, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The deal cannot be officially signed until the moratorium on signings is lifted on July 11. Allen, a 23-year-old forward-center from Temple, was the 50th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. With the draft in the rear view mirror, Sixers president Rod Thorn said on Friday that the next order of business was to negotiate with the team's free agents. The team kicked off that plan shortly after the introductory press conferences for draftees Maurice Harkless and Arnett Moultrie when it extended a qualifying offer to restricted free agent, Lavoy Allen, according to a source.
