Seven-year veteran Lou Amundson has been around long enough to know how the NBA works, to know that by Friday he could be traded or waived so the Timberwolves can resign Mickael Gelabale and Chris Johnson for the rest of the season. His agent has been talking to other teams about a possible trade, and Amundson in turn has been talking to his agent about whether the Wolves can deal him to a playoff contender for a protected second-round pick or if they'll waive him to clear a roster spot the Wolves will need if they intend to keep both players. "It's a business, so you have to think ahead with that stuff," Amundson said. "Everything's on the table right now. You never like to get traded, but sometimes the situation isn't what you hope it to be, and so it can work out for the best sometimes." Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Wolves forward Lou Amundson said he has been talking with his agent about the very real possibility that he will be traded or waived Friday if the Wolves intend to make room for both Chris Johnson and Mickael Gelabale for the rest of the season. "It's a business so you have to kind of think ahead," Amundson said. "Whatever happens, just continue to do what I'm doing. Everything's on the table right now. You never like to get traded, but sometimes the situation isn't what you hope to it to be. It can work out for the best sometimes." Minneapolis Star-Tribune

The Knicks and Sixers are said to have interest in Wolves forward Lou Amundson. He's the expected odd man out once a roster decision has to be made next week. The best the Wolves can expect in a trade is a heavily protected future second-round pick. 1500 ESPN

Darren Wolfson: Told by a #Twolves contact they have additional days flexibility, so a Lou Amundson move is not required right this second. Twitter @DarrenWolfson

Tolliver said by text Monday evening that Amundson's signing with the Wolves "absolutely" means he will sign elsewhere. Tolliver probably will sign either either Atlanta or Phoenix for the minimum, even though he has been holding out, waiting for more than that. Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Darren Wolfson: Mark Bartelstein, Amundson's agent, & Kahn began these talks a month ago. Picked up in the last week with the Adelmans involved. Per Bartelstein -- no surprise at the veteran's minimum, but the #Twolves beat out a handful of teams for Amundson. Twitter @DarrenWolfson

Sam Amick: Contract details for Lou Amundson, & more here: Amundson's deal is guaranteed for one year at $1.1 million. Nice pickup for Minny. I've always appreciated what Lou brings, & the fact that he always brings it. He was with Indy last year, but didn't get the sort of look he was hoping for with the Pacers. Sulia

Panathinaikos is looking for two big guys to complete the roster and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money. They can overcome their budget only for something extraordinary. Like for example Luis Amundson, for who they can spend up to one million U.S. dollars. The 29 year old power forward/center has a lot of offers by several NBA teams and may look to “Greens” only if he won’t find something good there. Panathinaikos has as an alternative Renaldo Balkman. The center from Puerto Rico ended the season in New York Knicks and is more feasible. EuroHoops.net
