The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has claimed third-year forward Malcolm Thomas off waivers. Per team policy, financial terms were not released. Following the move, the Jazz roster now stands at 15 players. NBA.com

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have waived forward Malcolm Thomas. Thomas was originally signed by San Antonio on Dec. 3. He appeared in one game with the Silver and Black posting 2 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 14 minutes vs. Milwaukee on Jan. 19. NBA.com

The The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have recalled forward Malcolm Thomas from the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League. In 10 games with the Toros this season, Thomas is averaging 15.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.40 blocks in 32.6 minutes. The San Diego State product was signed by the Spurs on Dec. 3. Malcolm Thomas has not yet played a minute for the Spurs this season but the club apparently sees plenty of potential for the future in the 6-foot-9 forward from San Diego State who signed a partially guaranteed contract contract with the club on Dec. 3. The Spurs have no intention of waiving Thomas, which means his contract officially will be guaranteed for the remainder of the season on Friday. Sources familiar with Thomas’ conversations with the club confirmed he will not be waived. San Antonio Express-News
