Matt Howard isn't going to be a college basketball All-American; he's been an academic All-American twice, but not a pure hoops All-American. And if my NBA sources are to be trusted, he has a minimal chance to play at the next level -- unless we're talking about the pro game overseas, where big men are a prized commodity. And yet, on the occasion of one of the Butler forward's best collegiate games -- 29 points and 16 rebounds in an 81-75 must-have victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay -- this much ought to be said: Howard, the Connersville, Ind., native, represents everything that is good about Butler basketball, everything that is still good about college basketball.
