The Jazz announced Friday evening a four-team trade involving veteran point guard Mo Williams is official, pending physicals. The Salt Lake Tribune first reported Williams' decision Friday to opt in to his 2012-13 contract, which greenlighted the deal. Salt Lake Tribune

The Los Angeles Clippers’ Mo Williams has elected to exercise his player option for next season at $8.5 million, meaning the three-team trade sending Odom to the Clippers, Williams to the Utah Jazz and a trade exception to the Mavericks will be submitted for league approval. It should be official by Saturday. Dallas Morning News

Williams holds an $8.5 million expiring contract next season. His decision to opt in to the contract was the only issue holding up the trade. Williams hesitated because he wanted to choose the right path for his future in the NBA. After exploring several options, the nine-year veteran decided his best move was to re-join the team that drafted him. Salt Lake Tribune

Update: A high-ranking source with direct knowledge of the situation says they're not aware of Mo Williams expressing a willingness to join the #UtahJazz. The Jazz remain open to the deal, though.
