Under the rookie pay scale, salaries for first-round picks are slotted based on draft position. Kidd-Gilchrist will make about $4 million this season. His contract is guaranteed this season and next, and then the Bobcats will have two one-season options, based on the collective bargaining agreement. Charlotte Observer

Ernie Grunfeld: On if the pick is between Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Harrison Barnes or Bradley Beal: It’s fair to say at least two of those three players will be there when it’s our turn to pick. Every draft goes in groupings. Obviously everyone knows who the No. 1 pick is going to be, but after that, there is a group of four or five players that will go anywhere from two to six, depending on who is picking. I think those three players are probably in that grouping, as is Thomas Robinson. Washington Post

The Cleveland Cavaliers are going into Thursday night's draft hoping to land a starting wing with the No. 4 pick to play alongside last year's Rookie of the Year, Kyrie Irving. According to sources, the Cavs have narrowed their list down to three players: Florida's Bradley Beal, Kentucky's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and North Carolina's Harrison Barnes. ESPN.com

So what will Olshey do? Does he get the point guard of the future in Lillard? Does he take a project like Drummond? Or does a talent like Harrison Barnes or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist slip to him? "I think what is going to happen is there is a very good chance we take guys who are going to create more questions," Olshey said. "If I go with a guy who solves a need, then people will say we are clearly going young. If you go best player available, and it creates positional redundancy, then it's going to be 'What do you do at these positions?' "What I would really like to do in my world is go into a bunker until July 20 then come out with the aggregate composition. Because then, it will make more sense. Everyone wants to follow this in a linear progression, but everyone forgets there is another step, and another step." Oregonian

“I talk to those guys all the time,” Wall said of Beal and Kidd-Gilchrist. “It would be an exciting opportunity to play with either one of those guys. They’re my homeboys. They’re very talented players. Mike won a championship and Bradley had a great season at Florida. It would be great to play with either of those guys. I really like watching those guys play and I think they’ll both have great NBA careers.” HoopsWorld

Jared Zwerling: Kidd-Gilchrist admitted he doesn't like dealing with the media. When asked which ? he doesn't want to hear again, he said the next one ... Twitter

Sources said the Kings aren't as content as I'd previously thought about the idea of grabbing whichever player falls between Kidd-Gilchrist and Barnes (assuming Beal is gone and Robinson, with whom they'd likely be thrilled, is off the board as well). As discussed back in Mock 2.0, I'm now hearing once again that they may go big in an attempt to find a complement for young center DeMarcus Cousins. I still put Barnes here because he's the value pick who could be dealt to another team as part of a trade in which the Kings move back to select a big man. Sources said one of the possibilities is to swap picks with Golden State (No. 7) and pick up another asset. And it's well-chronicled that the Kings can move back in exchange for Houston's 14th and 16th picks. SI.com

After years of letting his stuttering silence him, Kidd-Gilchrist no longer fears talking about his condition – or anything else. "I don’t care about what people think about me anymore," Kidd-Gilchrist said. "This is my life, not their life. I have to live it. They don’t. "It’s been a big battle for me just mentally. I’m just fighting through it. … I don’t mind it no more." Yahoo! Sports
