Mickael Pietrus sat out Sunday afternoon’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with knee tendinitis, but the condition is not serious, agent Bill McCandless told RealGM. The tendinitis is in Pietrus’ left knee – not the right knee on which he had surgery over the offseason – McCandless said. Pietrus is day-to-day. Pietrus signed with the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 30 and has swiftly climbed the team’s depth chart, starting in three of his four games. He has averaged 10.8 points and three rebounds in 31.6 minutes per game as a Raptor. RealGM

Mickael Pietrus has reached agreement on a one-year, veteran-minimum contract with the Toronto Raptors, agent Bill McCandless confirmed to RealGM on Thursday night. The deal will be made official Friday, McCandless confirmed. "It came down, in the end, to choosing the team who liked him best," said McCandless. RealGM

After a prolonged offseason, free agent guard/forward Mickael Pietrus and the Toronto Raptors have agreed upon a one year deal worth the veteran's minimum, CSNNW.com has learned. The deal will be finalized Friday morning and Pietrus is expected to suit up Friday night when the Raptors host the Phoenix Suns. Bill McCandless, the agent who represents Pietrus, confirmed this agreement to CSNNW.com via text message. "It has been a long journey and a long summer," McCandless told CSNNW.com. "We started this process first off with high expectations in July and had a bunch of phone calls. We spoke with Chicago and Houston early on. As we got deeper in the year, we had conversations with Atlanta, Minnesota, and Toronto. CSNNW.com

Dominic McGuire will be waived by the Raptors to make room on the roster, agent Mark Bartelstein told RealGM. Pietrus, 30, has averaged 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in his nine-year NBA career with four different teams. Pietrus, who has been training in France for months, has established himself as a solid outside shooter and a top-tier wing defender when healthy. RealGM

"We never heard from the Lakers. There was never any interest from them. At the end of the day, Toronto was the place for him and he's happy to be there. He is going to place where he knows he's going to play and help the team and he has a high regard for Bryan Colangelo (Raptors General Manager). CSNNW.com

Ryan Wolstat: So, looks like Pietrus passed the physical. As noted yesterday, all signs still pointing to McGuire being waived to make room Twitter @WolstatSun

Marc Stein: No signing done yet, but hearing injury-hit Raptors ramping up search for new SF, with Mickael Pietrus being strongly considered anew. Landry Fields & Alan Anderson both out up to month so Raps have renewed interest in SF market (headed by Pietrus) even w/15 guaranteed deals Twitter @ESPNSteinLine
