New Orleans has an interest in Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, but that intrigue belongs more with Loomis than Demps, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Thibodeau is waiting for the Bulls to initiate conversations about his future with the franchise, sources said. He has two years left on his contract. Loomis is an executive with the New Orleans Saints, and Thibodeau's tough-minded approach has an especially strong appeal to that part of the organization. Nevertheless, it is believed Demps is less inclined to want a strong-willed coach in the job, especially after so many internal battles with Williams. Demps was the driving force in pushing out Williams as coach, sources said. Yahoo! Sports

Regardless of what decision the Pelicans make about Gordon’s future, Loomis said the franchise is in good hands with Williams and Demps. Loomis gave them both extensions before the regular season began. "I think, most importantly, we absolutely have the right coach in Monty Williams,’’ Loomis said. "He’s everything that we’re looking for to lead our basketball team. "We absolutely have the right general manager in Dell Demps. He and his staff made a number of significant moves in this last offseason, and we’re looking forward to having a great offseason plan from him and his staff and from Monty as well.’’ New Orleans Times-Picayune
