The Kevin Love trade that didn’t happen for the Warriors was revisited as training camp gets going, and from Minnesota’s perspective, the Warriors could have gotten the deal done before the star forward was sent to Cleveland. “Golden State we came fairly close, but they decided not to go ahead with the deal,” Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor told NBA TV, adding that Minnesota wanted players back that would help them in the future. “And finally Cleveland said that they would give us three draft choices.” Contra Costa Times

Warriors forward David Lee heard the offseason trade rumors involving Kevin Love and said they didn't leave him feeling unwanted by the team. "There was no hard feelings," Lee said Monday. "There can't be. Our front office is trying to improve the team, and Kevin Love is a great player. "It happened, and I'm not mad at anybody. I don't feel bad. It's just this is a business." Contrary to rumor, the Wolves were not seriously interested in restricted free-agent point guard Eric Bledsoe, who re-signed with Phoenix, because a deal would have had to have been a sign-and-trade and simply too complicated. Bledsoe, though, was willing to consider Minnesota, pending Rubio's status with the Wolves. St. Paul Pioneer Press

The Suns offered Bledsoe a four-year, $48 million contract in July, but Bledsoe's representatives insist that the guard's value is a full maximum contract. There's been minimal communication between Bledsoe's representatives and Suns officials since the franchise's offer in July. Bledsoe's representatives with Klutch Sports, Rich Paul and Mark Termini, were unable to find a consequential offer sheet to force the Suns into matching a deal. Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders has been represented by Termini for much of his coaching career. Yahoo! Sports

This is a renewal of talks that have stretched over the past several months. The teams had discussions involving a Kevin Love trade that would involve Bledsoe but never made serious traction on a deal. ESPN.com

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been trying to get someone to take J.J. Barea off their hands for quite some time, and as the latest report dropped says he'll either be traded or bought out of his contract and released. It doesn't appear the Wizards will make a move to get him, people with knowledge of the situation told CSNwashington.com on Thursday. CSNWashington.com

Before Love had his agent push the Wolves for a trade in April, Rubio never did have a heart-to-heart with him about a future together. On a trip to Los Angeles after the T'wolves season ended, Rubio considered talking to Love there, but never bothered. What was the point anymore? "If he wanted to leave, there's no reason to talk to him about it," Rubio told Yahoo. "I really liked playing with him, but I'll play with the players who want to be there. Kevin wants to win. That's normal. He's been there six years without the playoffs. I understand. If I was in the same situation – being one of the best players in the league – and not being able to be in the playoffs, I'd have a lot of frustration, too. Yahoo! Sports

During Boston's offseason pursuit of Kevin Love, Sullinger's name often came up as a potential piece of a return package. He brushed off having his name float in rumors. "You know what, summertime, I don’t pay attention to basketball, honestly. Summertime is all about yourself, as selfish as it sounds. You try to get yourself better to go into next season, regardless of where you’re at. With all of those things going on, I think my Mom, Dad and brothers knew more about that situation than I did because it was in one ear and out the other." ESPN.com
