Now with the Oklahoma City Thunder after being selected with the 21st pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, McGary told VICE Sports that going through the experience was "good for (him)." "It was a learning moment. The way I handled it was mature and responsible so I think people actually took my side against the NCAA," he explained. Sporting News

He also said he brushed off the people commenting on his social media profiles accusing him of doing drugs. "You know what? I did. Whatever. So what? I learned from it," he said, chalking it up to being a college student. Sporting News

Darnell Mayberry: A lot of the younger players have been (in Oklahoma City) for most of the summer. They get away for stretches throughout the summer but return to work with the coaching staff. Guys like Mitch McGary, Steven Adams, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones have spent the majority of their time here. What they're working on is anyone's guess. Oklahoman

Bucks bonus notes: Some NBA officials have told me the Bucks may have made a promise to take Michigan power forward Mitch McGary with their first pick in second round — He shut down workouts after auditioning for Bucks — and are considering drafting Giannis “The Greek Freak” Antetokounmpo’s brother, Thanasis, in the second round as well. A year ago, Michigan forward Mitch McGary might have been in better position to enter the NBA. Following the Wolverine’s impressive run to the championship game in the NCAA tournament, McGary’s stock was at a high — in a weak class, some saw him as a potential lottery pick. Now, he will not be a lottery pick. But a source told Sporting News that he is a near-certainty to be a first-round pick, and that he, “has been all but assured,” that a team in the 20s will grab him if he is there, barrring a trade or an unlikely slip by a high-ranking propsect. It has been rumored that the team is either Oklahoma City, which has picks Nos. 21 and 29, or Charlotte, which holds No. 24. Sporting News

The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to resume pre-draft workouts today when they’ll take an up-close-and-personal look at one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft. I’ve been told Mitch McGary, a 6-foot-10, 266-pound center from the University of Michigan, is scheduled to work out for the Bucks at their training facility in St. Francis. Racine Journal-Times
