HoopsHype Mitch McGary rumors

December 18, 2014 Updates

Mitch McGary’s rough rookie season continues. The Thunder forward will miss the next 2-3 weeks with periostitis (inflammation) in his left tibia. It's not expected to be a serious injury, but McGary's court activity will be lowered as a treatment. This news comes only a few days after McGary finally made his NBA debut, scoring three points and grabbing four rebounds in six brief minutes against the Suns on Sunday. Oklahoman

He also said he brushed off the people commenting on his social media profiles accusing him of doing drugs. "You know what? I did. Whatever. So what? I learned from it," he said, chalking it up to being a college student. Sporting News

Darnell Mayberry: A lot of the younger players have been (in Oklahoma City) for most of the summer. They get away for stretches throughout the summer but return to work with the coaching staff. Guys like Mitch McGary, Steven Adams, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones have spent the majority of their time here. What they're working on is anyone's guess. Oklahoman
