Portland Trail Blazers second-year guard Nolan Smith was taken off the court on a stretcher after sustaining a blow to the head during the fourth quarter of his team's Tuesday afternoon game against the Houston Rockets. Smith attempted a lay-up and took a hit to the head. Smith yelled a profanity as he came to the ground and appeared to lose consciousness, falling to the ground on the baseline. Team staffers immediately attended to Smith, who took a minute or so to come to. He was able to move both of his arms and his legs and responded to questions from team staffers and medical trainers. If the Trail Blazers were to select Lillard or North Carolina's Kendall Marshall at No. 6 or No.11, (Nolan) Smith says he would welcome it and warns that he'll be coming for them. "Any point guard that comes in, we'll be teammates, but I'm going to let them know that I am here," Smith said. "We're going to battle and compete and may the best man win." CSNNW.com
