Portland Trail Blazers second-year guard Nolan Smith was taken off the court on a stretcher after sustaining a blow to the head during the fourth quarter of his team's Tuesday afternoon game against the Houston Rockets. Smith attempted a lay-up and took a hit to the head. Smith yelled a profanity as he came to the ground and appeared to lose consciousness, falling to the ground on the baseline. Team staffers immediately attended to Smith, who took a minute or so to come to. He was able to move both of his arms and his legs and responded to questions from team staffers and medical trainers.
