![]() Panathinaikos is looking for two big guys to complete the roster and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money. They can overcome their budget only for something extraordinary. Like for example Luis Amundson, for who they can spend up to one million U.S. dollars. The 29 year old power forward/center has a lot of offers by several NBA teams and may look to “Greens” only if he won’t find something good there. Panathinaikos has as an alternative Renaldo Balkman. The center from Puerto Rico ended the season in New York Knicks and is more feasible. EuroHoops.net |

![]() A source close to free-agent forward Lou Amundson said Charlotte is looking at Amundson, and that it's unlikely he would go to Greece. Panathinaikos has been mentioned as a possibility but the Amundson camp is wary about how Josh Childress' game fell off after he went to play in Greece and returned to the NBA. The source said the New York Knicks are also looking at Amundson. However, the Knicks only can offer the minimum and Amundson is looking for a deal in the area of $3 million a season. Sulia |

Panathinaikos wants to create revenues and that means exploring new markets, like China. That’s why it’ s more than probable to see a Chinese player in the roster of 2011 Euroleague Champions and Sun Yue could be the one. EuroHoops.net |

Electronic Arts and Euroleague Basketball are pleased to announce their licensing partnership that makes the leading global interactive entertainment software company an official partner under the video gaming category. Under this agreement EA SPORTS will include Turkish Airlines Euroleague players in the upcoming release of the mythical arcade game NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. This is the first time that European clubs will be officially represented in the NBA JAM franchise, one of the most successful video games in sports history. All fans will be able to choose any of the four participating teams in the last Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. Dimitris Diamantidis and Mike Batiste of Panathinaikos Athens, Lior Eliyahu and Sofoklis Schortsanitis of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Bo McCalebb and Ksistof Lavrinovic of Montepaschi Siena, Sergio Llull and Carlos Suarez of Real Madrid will be amongst the players representing the four Euroleague teams in the 2–on–2 basketball games. European clubs are built with veteran players who are well-versed in team basketball and drilled in fundamentals. It is rare that any team, particularly a Euroleague power, reaches out to an American rookie but Panathinaikos is pursuing Morris to fill a power forward void. Morris' agent, Tony Dutt, said talks with Panathinaikos are "moving along" but nothing is imminent. Dutt said he would pursue an out clause so that Morris could return to the Suns if the lockout ends. It is not clear whether Panathinaikos, the Euroleague's defending champion, would be willing to risk a midseason personnel loss to do that. Arizona Republic |

“Response has been great,” explained Norman. “We have had players from Derrick Rose wearing it to Mario Chalmers in the Finals. This is a global launch so even a guy name Dimitris Diamantidis, MVP of the Euroleague, was wearing the shoe as well. The shoe has global appeal and athletes of all shapes and sizes love it and the response has been great so far.” HoopsHype |

Coaching in the NBA isn't tempting to you? Zeljko Obradovic: No. I haven't spoken to them and I've had no offers. I'm very happy in Europe. It's a whole other worlds. You have to be really ready for the NBA, although I think there are coaches in Europe that, without a doubt, could work there. El Pais |

Your decision to play in Europe was something that you had thought about in advance or was an in-the-moment decision? Nick Calathes: I mean, it was kind of in the moment. I thought it was a great opportunity for me and a great step in my career to learn the style over here and mix it up with the style in the U.S. I couldn’t have asked for a better decision. I like the decision I made. Now I just have to keep getting better as a player and that’s that. HoopsHype How many years you have left on your contract with Panathinaikos? NC: There’s a team option next year. And what’s going to happen? NC: I can’t tell the future. I’m just going to keep playing. Hopefully we will win a Euroleague championship and things like that. Right now I’m not focused on that. We’re in the Final Four and that’s the main thing. I hope I can help this team win. Have you spoken with the Mavericks lately? NC: From time to time, yes I do. But I leave that to my agent. I leave that to everybody else. I don’t worry about anything like that. HoopsHype |

The official announcement of the signing of Aleks Maric for Panathinaikos could arrive soon, but this couldn't mean that Sofoklis Schortsanitis is not on the radar of Panathinaikos anymore. The 25-year-old Greek could still land in the current Greek champion. The Hoops Market |
