The Bulls quickly moved on, working to finalize an agreement with Pau Gasol. League sources said a sign-and-trade acquisition has been discussed with the Lakers in order for the Bulls to land the All-Star center from Spain. Though the Lakers would have to nimbly execute several transactions that started with Friday's agreement to trade for the Rockets' Jeremy Lin, a league source indicated the Bulls have discussed sending Mike Dunleavy and the non-guaranteed contracts of Mike James, Lou Amundsen and Ronnie Brewer to the Lakers. David Aldridge: With Carmelo off the board, as many are reporting, Bulls continue working Gasol deal. Still could go sign and trade route or amnesty. Twitter @daldridgetnt

Joe Cowley: Source: Bulls are moving away from Melo, still trying to get a S&T done for Gasol and jump in on Ariza. Twitter @suntimes_hoops

Marc Stein: Factor in Bulls' favor as they press to seal binding agreement w/Pau: ESPN sources say Lakers want Gasol in East if they can't have him Twitter @ESPNSteinLine

The Spanish power forward will very likely continue his career with the Bulls. Pau has virtually sealed the deal with Chicago and plans to pass the medical examination before returning to Barcelona in the coming days. Marca.com
