Pete Myers will not return to the Chicago Bulls as an assistant to new head coach Tom Thibodeau, but he will have a role in the organization, according to a source familiar with the situation. "It hurts a little bit, but I think he should be somewhere around," Bulls All-Star guard Derrick Rose said Thursday. "Pete is a guy where if it wasn't for him I don't where I'd be in this league. "He always is there, brings life to that organization and it hurt a little bit." ESPN.com

In a surprise development, Tom Thibodeau is searching for an assistant coach after informing veteran incumbent Pete Myers he won't use him on the bench, sources said. The Bulls' staff of Myers, Ron Adams and Andy Greer appeared to be set, and Thibodeau even commented on it during an interview with the Tribune during summer-league play. Chicago Tribune
