Lampe, speaking exclusively to fibaeurope.com, sent exactly this message of tranquillity to Polish fans: "Yes, I'm going to play," he stated briefly but firmly, when asked whether he had considered his participation at the EuroBasket. There is hardly time to mention the recent developments concerning Gortat before the Caja Laboral Vitoria forward/center interrupts decisively: "He'll play too," he says firmly. Eurobasket 2013 |

Polish basketball player Marcin Gortat who plays in the NBA - professional basketball league in North America, arrived to the Afghanistan where it awaits a busy summer – participation in the shares of traditional children’s camps, training sessions and matches with the representation and a trip to the military mission in Afghanistan. Gortat added also that he was under the impression of the professional skills of Polish soldiers. He honestly approved that he had wriggled out of military service. National Turk |

There's a chance Rockets first-round pick Donatas Motiejunas could remain with his Polish team and presumably miss the entire NBA season. So says Lithuanian website BasketNet. The site managed to track down Motiejunas' father and snag this quote (in yet another horrible example of Google Translate): This website "BasketNews.lt affirmed basketball dad Vidas Motiejunas. "Donate remain in Poland, because it has a contract until the end of the season and guided him. Not even thought about the NBA this season. N. is still young, before all eyes, "- site" BasketNews.lt "said Donato dad. The Dream Shake |

As reported by Lrytas.lt, Asseco Prokom reached a two-year agreement with Donatas Motiejunas. The Lithuanian big man spent the last two years in Italy with Benetton Treviso and was selected by Minnesota Timberwolves in the last NBA draft (20th overall pick) and then traded to Houston Rockets. Asseco Prokom will also pay a buyout to Benetton Treviso because Motiejunas has still one year left on the contract with the team. With the new deal with Prokom, Motiejunas has an NBA out and he can leave as soon as he gets a call from Rockets. Now Treviso will likely sign Brian Scalabrine who is practicing with the team since weeks. Sportando |

![]() Lawal leaves Tuesday to join his new club after signing a contract that includes an out allowing him to return to the NBA when and if there is a lockout settlement. He is the first Suns player to sign an overseas deal during the lockout. "It's a good opportunity for me to get good minutes," said Lawal, who has been training at Georgia Tech and started playing pickup games two weeks ago. "That's the biggest thing -- to get in playing form. I haven't competed in so long. I'm hungry. I'm young in this game and thankful to have a situation to get in game rhythm. "The NBA is where I want to be but I'm very thankful for Poland and this organization to give me the opportunity. I'm waiting on the NBA, just like the rest of the 450 players." Arizona Republic Lawal said he has Suns teammate Marcin Gortat, Poland's only NBA player, on speed dial to find out information about where he is headed. Lawal said he had other offers but his agent, Andy Miller, said this one was a good match based on the playing opportunity he will get and a "respectable" salary. "They were looking for a forward to go next to (former Cornell center) Jeff Foote," Miller said. "It's a good opportunity to gain some experience and stay in shape. He's been training and rehabbing for seven and a half months. It's time for him to compete at a high level. "It's replacing what would usually be under the auspices of the Phoenix Suns right now. In essence, it's a professional simulation of what he'd get in Phoenix." Arizona Republic |
